I burnt 14.4 billion input tokens, 36 million output tokens, in 169 agent hours over 5140 sessions to ship 466 pull requests and launch teslemetry.pro in the last 7 days. Used my Claude Code reset to doubt quota and had Firstmate (by @kunchenguid.bsky.social ) orchestrating.

I can't wait to use Claude Haiku 5.5 to spell check my Claude Opus 5.5 prompts controlling Claude Sonnet 5.5 agents.

September was my biggest month contributing to the @home-assistant.io project, with 61 merged Pull Requests in core, with 50 related to @teslemetry.com. This release is the debut of my Vehicle Bluetooth and Powerwall local network connectivity code that's been in development and testing for months.

Over the weekend I setup Tesla's Charge On Solar function between my Model 3 and Powerwall 3, *without* using the Tesla app. It took 4 different asymmetrical keys and significant trial and error, but now I know how.

I corrupted my @home-assistant.io Matter server by pulling the power on my HA Green a few times, but Claude Code found a backup from a week ago and then merged the device database from a few hours ago into it so without having a recent backup, I am fully back up and running with all nodes!

When I started my small business I was quickly freaked out by international tax and pivoted from Stripe to a merchant of record. Yet so many of the services I use, which are MUCH bigger, don't charge me appropriate sales tax at all. Like @cloudflare.social, @theverge.com, @nuxt.com, and @zed.dev

Had a phantom Automatic Emergency Braking event in my Tesla Model 3 today. That's where the vehicle automatically applies full brakes until you come to a complete stop. Would have been a minor discomfort if it wasn't for my wife holding a tray of 4 coffees, which went all over her and the seats.

@zed.dev AI Edit prediction turns out to be a really good spell check when I'm writing markdown. Probably not the most efficient use of an LLM, but it works!

When I figured out how to generate typescript from protobuf protocols using ts-proto, my development experience went through the roof. No more cross referencing multiple files just to create a valid message. Made me realise I hadn't been generating pyi files for my Python implementation either.

It's annoying when you accomplish something incredibly technical that only a few hundred people in the world would even care about. I have successfully implemented the Tesla Command Protocol in TypeScript for NodeJS. I will be using it for the @teslemetry.com API soon.

The way the #HomeAssistant Tesla Fleet integration works was great before, but now it's a complete mess. It has occured to me that it could be much simpler if it supported the Machine to Machine based authentication... If only I didnt have a dozen other things on my backlog.

Chatting with @joostlek.bsky.social last night led me to commiting 1592 new lines to the Teslemetry Stream library. GitHub CoPilot has become such a critical part of my workflow now, and makes these incredibly repetitive tasks bearable. I'm actually looking forward to getting an agentic AI.

Teslemetry's API v2 has just gone live, built with @fastify.dev. Being able to validate input and self document are extremely valuable features for my users, and the modular (plugin) design is perfect for my future growth. api.teslemetry.com/docs/ Blog post coming soon.

And just like that, Tesla has moved the goal posts and now requires each domain to have its own certificate registered with a CA from a list they don't provide. Let's Encrypt didn't appear to make the cut, and a CloudFlare wildcard certificate isn't enough either. Support ticket raised.

Tesla Fleet in #HomeAssistant 2025.1 requires users to register their own developer application, which requires hosting a public key on a unique domain. To make this easier I have created fleetkey.cc with @cloudflare.social Pages, Workers, and KV. It lets anyone host their pubkey for free.

I just copy pasted a documentation page into @github.com CoPilot with Claude 3.5, and it wrote all the @fastify.dev / OpenAPI schema for me. The time I save using CoPilot far exceeds its cost many times over.
