>they're going to vibecode cobol so, who's stocking up on canned food and shotguns?

I think you guys should stop learning languages and start learning programming already.

#3DPrinters aren't the problem, especially in the USA. Lawmakers (and OSHWA) should be ashamed. Reject these bills! > Printers would have to examine every file, compare it against a centrally maintained list of prohibited designs, reject flagged jobs, and be engineered to resist bypass <

I buy almost all my books on bookshop. We need more mission driven companies we can give our business as alternatives to the techno-oligarchs.

thanks for the shout out! "an absolute middle finger to tech bros and this horrible era" is the best description of this story that i've heard.

Just putting this here if anyone's curious.

I thought part 2 might be the end of me, but I finally nailed it down after lots of face palming. I just completed "Trash Compactor" - Day 6 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/6

I'm not exactly on pace, but I just completed "Secret Entrance" - Day 1 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/1

Ready for the bubble to burst. The world went too hard and too fast on AI. It's revolutionary in so many ways, but vastly outpaces regulation and legislation.

Last night’s lavish White House dinner showed us the global oligarchy coming together in plain sight. By cozying up to MBS, Trump has signaled to the world that the United States is now on the side of authoritarianism, not democracy.

One of the most powerful coding habits is stopping to explain the problem to yourself out loud.

We’re genuinely excited to announce our very first collection: Return of the Immersive Sim. We’re a small, passionate team trying to do things differently. Own some of the games already? Trade them in for something else on the Digiphile Exchange. We can’t wait to show you what’s next! digiphile.co

Spiraling headlong towards The Autofac at incredible speed. Not only do we fill our front porches with their boxes, but they are bankrolled by an insane amount of the internet (including gov't) hosted in their cloud infrastructure. Robots in the warehouses, AI in the cloud. #BoycottAmazon

#BannedBooksWeek is coming up in just a couple weeks. I encourage everyone to stand up against censorship and the banning of books. Find one and read it! Read them all! Fahrenheit 451 or 1984 are good, relevant choices.

I wish books had an ownership history, like the old library slip in back. So I could thank the person who came before and made perfect highlights and margin notes (and corrections). I've collected a few gems like that over the years that made absorbing and referencing the material all the easier.

Guilty-ish... I enjoy learning new languages and paradigms, but should spend more time putting them into practice (rather than just consuming). Suggestion (to self?): work through an Advent of Code in the language before moving on, if no specific purpose is in mind.

😻 do it
