necromancy should, indeed, be about conjuring, treating with or manipulating the dead (their spirits, not merely their sodding bones). it's far more interesting to be reckoning with the ethics forcing a soul back into the shriveled husk that was their body, than just making a dancing puppet.

We just had fantasy firearms discourse so let's bring back all the hits. I feel like people use the term "necromancy" as if it isn't rooted in mythological concepts and linguistic roots. Necromancy is not a carte blanche "make dead stuff move" it has an actual concept to what it's doing.

Echoes of the Eye (for Outer Wilds), easily. it's fun, it's scary, the puzzles are just as good (sometimes better!) than the base game. it makes you feel horror as you progress, and then makes you cry at the end, again. 10/10
