Trying to wrap up writing "Shubenacadie Day", a story loosely based on a movie about a TV anchor who inexplicably is reliving the same day over and over. But it was about a different reporter, a different groundhog, in a different country. So clearly not the same story. (continued)

He was warm and kind to others in public, but behind the scenes he was kind of a jerk. Entitled and definitely knew he was good looking which made him even more of a jerk. Taller than average but not too tall. Medium build, with a strong jaw and eyes that made people feel at ease. (continued)

Wrote 1500 more words of "Shubenacadie Day" this morning. The walk to the cafe was short. Enfield just wasn’t that big. They had to stay in #Enfield because #Shubenacadie didn’t have space for the amount of media who showed up to the event, which was in the dozens. #NovaScotia #BookSky 📚💙

Reworking "The Drowning of Julia" a bit. "Julia stood at the kitchen sink and watched the fog stream past the silhouette of Goat Island. It hung in the bay like a secret, the black spruce and maples vanishing into wisps of whites and grays." It was short listed twice but hasn't made the cut. 📚💙

Finally wrapped the first draft of "Corn Scabs" and sent it to my editor. She will proceed to pry open my eyes and subject me to understanding better narrative structure. I will watch as entire passages I agonized over are deleted. The story will be improved, and I will sing her praises. #BookSky

Trick or treating is for any age. In our old neighborhood we had adult trick or treating with ariplane bottles, pieces of cake, or wine refills. Why cant we all just make everything fun for everyone?

I did a short reading from the start of my #scifi story, “Corn Scabs”, and was told it was funny & intriguing. 🤔 A divorced lobster fisherman named Al, encounters one of a race of recently landed aliens. The vegetarian aliens are taking jobs to work for food. The ousted humans call them Corn Scabs.

I continued working on my story "Corn Scabs" today. I wrote a good portion of an exchange between a truck driver and his alien lover, and a whale sighting during a meetup between fishermen on the Bay of Fundy. 📚💙 #booksky

I've been getting more fake publisher scam emails. A lot more. Sadly, no agents are reaching out to me by email to publish my books. But if you are a real literary agent, my new novels are going to knock your socks off and I'll be reaching out to you soon. 💙📚

The more commentary I hear about the future of #AI, the more I realize that my SciFi stories about AI/AGI are more factually accurate than most reporting I see in the world.

Working on writing today, finally. Cappuccino, rain, and a little damp chill in your bones can make it easier for the mind to float off to a far away fiction.

I was going to finish my latest story but instead I got addicted to SatisFactory (the game).

Lot of talk in writer's groups lately to "go where the money is" (write fantasy, horror, or romance) because of greater market share. Good advice if your goal is to earn more. No judgement, everbody gotta feed the fam. The real magic is writing your passion to become a category of one. 📚💙

Is the 10% chance that AI will rule the world because it can write competent instructions for SaaS products, unlike nearly every company in the world?

No one really knows why. Time travel stories are different stories the first and second time you read them. All good #timetravelstories make you think back to the start and for hints at what happens. Now go back to the start and think about how one story, with the same words, can be two at once.

If the USA could stop doing stupid shit in trade with Canada, I'd have a lot more time to write SciFi instead of dealing with tariff BS for my clients.
