I've avoided the migw malaise/pax pox, probably thanks to the covid shot I got 2 days before it went from free to being $170. so many people are going to be so much sicker next year. I understand that covid vaccines are more difficult to store & transport than the flu shot, but $170 is heinous.

Howling Techie@howlingtechie.bsky.social

Watching the new season of Shark Tank and they managed to immediately become a parody of itself by having one of the pitches be Ball 2, the sequel to Ball, powered by AI. To really seal the deal, the ball 2's battery is not rechargeable or designed to be replaced.

Was a bit under the (bolt)gun on this one so it's a bit shorter than I'd like — but overall a solid boomer shooter, but def one for the 40K sickos and not the uninitiated

REVIEW: Warhammer 40K: Boltgun 2 "If you enjoyed stomping your way through the 40K universe in the boots of Malum Caedo a few years ago, this second outing will likely tick all of the same boxes." @aurochdigital.bsky.social @devolverdigital.com checkpointgaming.net/reviews/2026...

This is one to watch from PAX Aus, and I'm very happy to shout from the rooftops about the potential here from Glub Club

What was the biggest twist of PAX Aus this year? It may well have been the ending of the Pirate Cowboy Cowboy Pirate game demo. Read Here: checkpointgaming.net/features/202...

I'm not sure if this was a pervasive feeling, or just one amongst the people I spoke to, but this Melbourne games week felt... defiant? Shit is absolutely cooked in the industry, but if you're still here, you're still fucking here. Until next time

Some actual honest to goodness original reporting from yours truly. Thanks for the chat Toot!

"The game now refunds one dodge and one jump after an air execution if the player is out of both" - Deceptively big change to combat I reckon, and makes Dylan's line about not quite being able to fly even funnier

🛠️ CONTROL Resonant Game Update 1.40 is out. And it's a big one. ✅ New Game ++ ✅ Many, many, many ████ bug fixes ✅ UI updates, quality of life additions... and ██! These are probably our longest and most ██████ update notes to date. Please read carefully: https://ow.ly/3nLw50ZTolU #CONTROLResonant

Unsurprising but disappointing. I would have loved a more restrictive timer, as the game really loses a special magic once you realise how blunt this sword of damocles is

Eurogamer@eurogamer.bsky.social

The Blood of Dawnwalker originally had a stricter time mechanic making it "harder to beat". But Rebel Wolves pulled back on it "because we were afraid that people will complain too much" www.eurogamer.net/the-blood-of...

As someone who already thought Dylan felt like an absolute wrecking ball I'm excited to jump back in and try my hand at some of the arcade cabinet areas I couldn't make time for before filing my review.

I feel like this was clear from the jump? If you play it you can immediately tell based on depth/variety of systems and size. Not that this is a bad thing, just didn't think they were ever obscuring this

Eurogamer@eurogamer.bsky.social

The Blood of Dawnwalker cost less than expected to make - it's more of a double-A game than a triple-A blockbuster www.eurogamer.net/blood-of-daw...

On one hand, AI might cause nuclear annihilation in the dumbest way possible. But on the other hand, it is semi-almost-useful at making lists. Gotta take the bad with the good!

so we just nearly started a war with china (a nuclear state) because of genAI use

Thanks so much for penning this incredible piece @austingallagher.bsky.social! I live in hope for the day that Inf Lives has the funds to run much, much longer pieces at a fair rate for writers! We’ll get there!
