audreym

This is a phrase that my parents used to say to me which I have actually worked hard to not use myself. However I will make an exception while reading "Cloud Atlas". David Mitchell is being too clever for his own good.

Keep calm and enjoy the magic 🪄

People of bluesky, make Rukmini Iyer's chickpea gratin sometime soon, it's delicious. I made it for our tea (spinach not kale as I can't abide kale) #food #recipes #vegetarian www.theguardian.com/food/2024/ja...

Stunning sunset after stunning result #Manchester

Thanks for making our Sunday 🤗

September reading/listening via @thestorygraph.com Aversge reading reflects the state of my back to school brain - tho Tracy Beaker is also CPD - how do I interact with Tracys in my classes? Top read was Dust - final book in Silo trilogy. #booksky 💙📚

Yeah so it looks like Man City did cheat. Pretty gutted. But then Stuff Happened IRL to remind me it's only a stoodip game. Too much fucking perspective.

A swim in the Atlantic followed by a chippy tea. September afternoons don't get much better than this.

Belated What I Read In August. Highlights: - "Your Inner Fish" by @neilshubin.bsky.social - "The Blackhouse" by @authorpetermay.bsky.social - "A Perfect Spy" - a reread, one of my favourite LeCarre Not sure what to make of "On The Calculation Of Volume" but will read book 2 #BookSky

Just about to head to the Joie for the first time this WSL season, can't wait! " #MCWFC #CMONCITEH

Oh yay another holiday starting off with waiting in the Other Countries passport queue because FUCKING BREXIT. There should be a special "look, I voted remain" queue.

joys of getting older: spending the afternoon on the phone to sort out your holiday insurance so you don't up as a Daily Mail Sad Face person whose claim got turned down

Things that will be outlawed when I rule the world #371: stand up padle boards

For thousands of years, a solar eclipse has been a prophetic harbinger of a spectacular, epoch-making event. Just saying. #VoteBinface #Clacton

People of #Clacton, you know what to do. Vote early. Vote often. Vote #Binface

20% voted for Dumbledore in this @teachertapp.bsky.social poll. Can't beleivrr1 in 5 teachers want this safeguarding nightmare working in their school!

Teaching things once is Not Enough. I know all the students I teach learn to read an analogue clock in primary but when they get to me they can't because they don't regularly use the skill after that. Same with swimming, one set of lessons in Year 4 is not gong to make a confident swimmer.

Today in 1) No Shit, Sherlock 2) Schools Must Fix Everything Children from disadvantaged, backgrounds less likely to leave school able to swim. Want Schools to get kids swimming? You have to take stuff out of the curriculum to make time for it throughout primary www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Had to take @sirisaacnewtoncat.bsky.social to the vet this week as he was (very uncharacteristically) off his food. Vet couldn't find anything wrong and thinks he's stressed. Yes just look at the poor stressed animal who now gobbles down the special snowflake fancy cat food #caturday

Really enjoying reading @neilshubin.bsky.social "Your Inner Fish" - evolutionary biology is fascinating and even better if there's lots of geology included. I've just discovered that teeth came before bones!

What I read/listened to in July, via @thestorygraph.com Highlights: - "Project Hail Mary" audiobook, loved it, highly recommend - "Infinite Life" by @juleshoward.bsky.social - really interesting story of evolution of eggs - and now I know why mammals evolved to not lay them! #booksky 💙📚

Bloody hell. Early doors for argy bargy.

Yeah OK so they beat the Vikings but they might still have to take on the French and we know how that goes #1066 #ABE

Things that will be illegal when I rule the world no. 3428: those pedalling beer music bus things that you get in tourist cities and have now started turning up in my city.

In a world that's never been more divided, it's been uplifting during the World Cup to see us all put our differences to one side and come together to celebrate something joyous. Ronaldo tears.

Does anyone know the Portuguese for Schadenfreude? [she asked, while adding fresh Tears of Ronaldo to yesterday's Tears of Neymar, with a dash of Tears of B. Fernandes] #PORESP #WorldVup

One must have a heart of stone to see the tears of Neymar without laughing. #BRANOR #WorldCup

Well this all looks legitimate, fair and above board. Another triumph for #FIFA #WorldVup

What I read in June, via @thestorygraph.com #BookSky

Me at 3pm: I am knackered after staying up for that #GERPAN penalty shoot out last night. I will definitely be in bed by 10 tonight. Me at 10 tonight: ooh #FRASWE #WorldCup

"No attemp to play the ball there, Pat" "Actutially I think there was an attempt to play the ball, it was just a rubbish one" Gotta love Pat Nevin on co-comms #GERPAR

Oh well. Stupid game anyway.

lunch duty today at my (English) school, wearing my Scotland bucket. Random Student walks past singing "We know we ain't no Argetina!" so of course I'm "But we got John McGinn" and we do a No Scotland No Party duet and then he just walks off. I think it's A Sign 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 youtu.be/-qSVBY08VoA?...

Setting up my most important goal for today in my #Finch app

"I have accepted Keir Starmer's resignation as my chief servant and have invited Andy Burnham to lay out details for how many meals a day he'll give me"

I'm sure all the loyal patriots have put on their best black gear and are on their way to DUP HQ to SaV3 aR kiDz and ar woMMEn

It is a very long time since I studied Richard II for A-level English Lit, but tonight I am imagining Starmer walking the battlements of Flint Castle

I blame myself. I forgot to wear my lucky Scotland pyjamas the night before the match. #SCOMAR

WE. ARE. TOPOFTHEGROUP #Scotland #NoScotlandNoParty #WorldCup

Stop talking about Scottish goalkeepers. It's bringing me out in a cold sweat.

Because the UK was such a paradise before the Forriners arrived in their little boats. Particularly Belfast, renowned for being crime free.

So Bluesky, what are we doing about the World Cup (men's football)? #WorldCup ? #FIFAWorldCup ? #USA2026 ?

Michael Gove is not allowed to be Scottish. Or like football. Or be on my fucking tv talking about Scotland in the World Cup. Particularly when I'm with my mum and not allowed to swear at the slimey fucking fucker.

"The Musgroves had had the ill fortune of a very troublesome, hopeless son, and the good fortune to lose him before he reached his twentieth year". Jane Austen was such a bitch. I love her. #BookSky 💙📚 #JaneAusten #Persuasion
