I think I'm becoming a drone-based cognitohazard. I've gotten at least half a dozen people interested in drones, some of whom I haven't even interacted with directly. It will be getting worse :3

Easy answer: An imsim where instrumental play is somehow penalized. How and to what extent is an exercise for the devs/designers. Narrative penalization would be ideal for the kind of player who doesn't care about it anyways, and would maybe give those who do pause about the means they took.

I plan on doing something like this for the game I'm making, but walking the line between preachiness and not caring is difficult. Instrumental players will always find a way if they *really* want to - all devs can really do is try to keep them in the game and clown on them for going outside it.

Played some Arma milsim tonight, had one of the most fun patrols I've ever been on. I didnt kill anything and died pretty much immediately after we engaged the enemy in earnest, but the approach was an absolute journey. We must've snuck by two dozen patrols, some of which were no more than 50m away

Honesty this encapsulates why I love milsim so much. Win or lose (and 2x FKIA vs several dozen EKIA and a disabled artillery piece way in the back line is a win), it's a fun time if you have the right community.

I also got to listen to a bunch of EI step on APERS mines that our EOD guy left to cover our escape while bleeding out. That entire journey was worth it just for that little bit of schadenfreude if nothing else.

The story around AI used to be about generating more. For many neurodivergent professionals, the bigger benefit is offloading invisible labor: remembering what you promised, the dozen tabs open in your brain, the thread you meant to reply to. ⬇️

Personally, it feels like so much of leftist organizing/propaganda (descriptive, not derogatory) is geared towards political messaging in the abstract, but struggles to parse through adversarial propaganda when it's detrimental to their tactical/strategic-level planning, and this ends up biting us.

Finally got my VRChat avatar fixed up! Time to be a gay critter again! Pixels directly in my face can be a bit disorienting, but it's worth it for the drone vibes. Very fun :3 Now I just need to fix up my voice-to-text osc transcriber, and I can really embrace the larp :)

I figured out how to put flashing lights and binurals inside of my PC-50 mask, and oml it's such a vibe. Very comfortable, very drone-coded. At max brightness and volume I can barely see and hear outside of the setup, but honestly that's a perk. Very nice for just lounging in bed/meditating with.

I made some stock last night out of random vegetables, guajillo and D' arból chiles, and bits of bones/meat that I was saving for the task, and I ended up making it *way* too spicy. Like, I used it to make a bowl of rice and I thought I was having a heart attack before I even finished it spicy.
