The octopath traveller games are exceedingly good at making me feel for the characters, like I'm not 1 hour into 0 and I absolutely hate the antagonists lmao

I'll do it because who doesn't love building up expectations to get them dashed, but I'd like to see Golden Sun at the direct, but really I'll be pleased with any sort of neat surprise

My mind decided randomly about two weeks back to try my hand at GameCube game Decompilation and I'm getting stuck at the initialisation stage of the project and I swear I'm trying to figure shit out but I'm getting absolutely nowhere T.T

Not only are there just too many games coming out, too many people, and news outlets are more and more ravenous to just openly post about content in games that have been out FOR NOT EVEN 3 DAYS. Like if anything is gonna make me get off social media forever, it's gonna be this shit.

Here's the thing that shits me with generative AI (really there are many things). It's the fact that we've successfully merged the word "AI" with the innate assumption of "Generative AI" and it's being used in the most malicious way possible. Saying the phrase "all games use AI" is technically true!

This is because "AI" is the word we use to describe any instance of computer controlled movement in a game, like an enemy fighting back! But instead, these fuckheads are using that word and society at large is instantly replacing it with what we know as "Generative AI".

This is slowly eroding away people's understanding of how things work and slowly instilling this (incorrect) idea that generative AI is universally adopted by entire industries. This could just be semantics but it's definitely not just minor in how it's influencing the dialogue around GenAI in games

Popping in to remind you that submissions for ASM2025 close at the conclusion of May 11 AEDT, so get those runs recorded and sent in if you haven't already! This year we celebrate our 10th anniversary, so it's gonna be a big one and we want you all to be there

I caved and stopped being spoiler free in Blue Prince. I both regret and don't regret the decision. I regret not getting to solve the puzzles but I understand that to solve them would require more time than I have at my disposal.

Was Undertale really the first instance/use of the "Despite everything, it's still you" phrase? Just cause it's fun to think how I see that quote used in bigger games and it came from a indie game

I'll do the interests thingy: - Speedrunning - Puzzles (of the numeric variety) - Most Nintendo games/series - Fav game: TWEWY - Fav genre: Metroidbrainia - Fav TV show: House M.D - Fav Anime: One Piece (up to date on anime, not manga) - Currently playing: UFO 50, against the storm

Explain your username: Originally I had a username that was based on my last name w/ numbers. I came across games that demanded usernames without numbers. I couldn't just use my last name, so I spent about 30 minutes putting letters and sounds together until I created Astrious.

Explain your username: Almost 8 years ago, Panga typod my real name/old username of Stephen, inexplicably leaving out nearly half the letters. I liked it and it stuck

You are up to date.
