I don't know what the next AI dev hype will be, but for right now skills are hitting the sweet spot for me in terms of getting LLMs to do what I want without wildly hallucinating.

It's incredible how archaic IDEs without AI now feel. Doing a project in iOS and I've actually switched to using cursor for actual code writing and only using xcode to build and test.

our april fools joke this year was a "Text to Bark" service which would translate human text into dog language and the amount of emails we get asking for API access is truly mind boggling

Today's dark pattern award goes to HSBC, who after unsubscribing from their emails because I don't read them, sends me an email asking if I could please re-subscribe because they want to send me more emails I won't read.

Son has been gloating a lot to little brother, like "haha I have more than you". Told him the next time he does it I'll take what he has and give it to his brother. Last night: "haha I have more broccoli than you" *proceeds to put his broccoli on brother's plate* now listen here you little shit
