For years my answer to "where do I start with genart?" was fx(hash). Easy to publish, cost almost nothing, and a community that welcomed you — and sometimes collected you. fxhash is gone. I don't have an answer anymore. Where would you send someone starting out today? 🤔

The Source started in July 2022, in a house in the Pyrenees, with one question: can you paint watercolour with code? A year later, it dropped on @gmstudio.bsky.social with @matthieuart.bsky.social. That was 3 years ago.

Current mood: overthinking how much freedom to give my next algo. - Too open → risk of losing coherence. - Too constrained → pieces feel too similar, which kills some of the #genart magic. I get why collectors might prefer coherence, but I'm torn.
