Found another trove of old photos and negatives in my parents storage in need of scanning (there goes my free time for a couple weeks). Love seeing my first PC desk/setup. I’d recognize the Test Drive III code wheel anywhere.

About 36 years ago, my brother and I were standing in a Toys”R”Us and needed to align on the next new NES game our parents would get us. I fought for Kemco’s Superman, being obsessed with the movies, while my brother tried to convince me that Super Mario Bros 3 was better. Forgive me, bro.

It feels like I’m back in college, apart from the fact that this iPod classic is solid brass and glass. A fun mod, not really intended to be on the go (250g 😬), but breathes new life into a device someone dumped on ebay because of failing a HDD and battery

After 14 years of excellent, dependable brain-draining, I’m finally retiring my beloved ST60 55” Panny Plasma in favor of a new 4K OLED with modern features. If anyone I know in the bay would make good use of the plasma and let it burn out its final years in dignity, I’d love to find it a good home

There are few things that have remained exactly as cool to me as an adult as they did when I was little but I have to give it up for laminating paper. It’s like tossing a boomerang into the fairy fountain; it feels magical coming out the other side.

I rarely stop a movie before it’s through, even when I’m not feeling it, but good lord, I don’t think I can get all the way through Tron: Ares. How did we go from Legacy to this?

It took me WEEKS but I finally defeated Gold Stake on Black Deck. Testament to how utterly brilliant Balatro is that I didn’t give up.

I think it’s finally come into focus for me why I find so much satisfaction tinkering with Pi devices. I spent an hour tonight getting Ubuntu set up on a laptop enclosure for the CM5, built and installed a custom battery driver someone made, setup flathub and installed libreoffice via flatpak 1/

It makes me feel like I did when I was a kid, having to navigate DOS and figure out XMS and EMS and all that stuff. It’s like a tech equivalent to learning stick shift. And it’s the most basic stuff but I love figuring it out because it feels like things unlock for me 2/2

I honestly never thought I’d get around to this aluminum hinged GBA SP mod but for whatever reason, tonight, I had the courage to start it. Nice to see it all come together well (and hey, it works!)

Also does anyone know if this is an OG SP part? 😅 I don’t know where it came from but I don’t think it’s part of the new kit (this feels like when I assemble IKEA furniture and end up with an extra part…)

Probably because it hit at a formative time and nothing felt remotely as immersive to me back then, even today when I wake up to a gloomy cloudy drizzly sky, I can hear Daggerfall music in my head. The Unity port is amazing on a 90fps Steam Deck OLED display btw.

I cannot remember the last time I wanted to paste text with source formatting and cannot understand why the default isn’t for text to be pasted without formatting. Why do I have to remember a key combo or click a pull down/contextual menu every time?

Mulling a big portable battery for travel, been a while since I combed the options and it seems Anker still has the most robust lineup but also a bit of analysis paralysis between many similar products. Anyone have the Prime 27k or the more recent Anker Laptop Charger with the retractable cables?

#GhostofYotei is now available worldwide! It's been five years since we launched Ghost of Tsushima, and we are so happy to have another Sucker Punch game in your hands. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and to everyone who plays. We can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Shout out to Alex for creating the SterlingKey BT switcher which has made it so easy for me to use my fancy mechanical keyboards with multiple devices. Just upgraded to his newer version with a more premium case and very happy to have it at the heart of my setup.

Had been almost three years since I built a keyboard, mainly because I got a puppy almost 3 years ago. It’s nice to finally be at a place (in terms of her ability to chill) where I feel like I can take the time to do it.
