Randomly decided to watch the show Billions. Currently in Season 3 and very much engrossed. Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti are incredible. Love the supporting cast. So happy I have 7 seasons of this.

There's nothing more satisfying watching the folks who've strung others along for years with projects they've failed to follow through on now turn to the theft-machine. That which flows from it frictionlessly is forgotten just as so. A self correcting system.

Hey folks, like a lot of people this year I've been affected by layoffs, and I'm looking for my next opportunity! I'm a Lead Unity Developer looking for a similar position. I have a decade of experience, mostly XR but in small and large teams, medical, simulation, etc. DM me!

Happy to go 3 for 3 😅 (SUPERHOT VR, Starship Home, H3VR2)

I know it's my job to feel this way, but I think we've made the coolest thing that's (about to be) available on Quest 3. I'm so proud of our team. Our game is ridiculous. I can't wait to get people in it.

I don't think this is just the AAA game industry contracting, but really the sunsetting the of the Gen-X notion of what a game is being culturally dominant/relevant.

Just had a Shake-Shack burger for the first time in a while and it's downright irritating how much better it is than In & Out (given its like fucking 3x as expensive)

I announce that we're taking 6+ extra months to make our PCVR build everything it can be instead of just a Quest port: PCVR people furious Fast Travel goes for Simul-launch on PC, with a build that looks mostly like the Quest version: PCVR people furious. There's no winning.

“Uh oh our chair on the mocap stage was too short! What do we do? Remodel the sofa? Re animate the characters??” Environment artist: “I got you”

I'm thinking of going back to being retired from social media once H3VR2 comes out. There should be (in theory) enough content creators into the game who can disseminate anything cool about the project going forward. I've been a much less healthy person since doing this again.

I keep tumbling Control Resonant over my head, and how it, more than anything I've played recently, highlights how impoverished our grammar still is in games. The collision of such out of this world concepts filtered through 'smash the red guy' and 'sequence puzzle #37'.

It seems so badly to want to put you in this mind bending context, where meaning and symbol and space are all warped, but it doesn't know how to do anything with it, other than occasionally show. And being a mainstream action game it can't actually require you to think.

The 'weirder' the events get, it just highlights more that we're trapped on the other side of the screen from their as viewer/interactor. We're stuck having at best a cinematic experience, instead of an immersive experience. The language of film is most of the tools the game has.

My fav casual game genre (incremental/clickers) have been just inundated with AI shit over the past month on Steam. Tons of games with no AI disclosure with vibe-slop interface (which means basically the whole game). What a waste. At least it's helping me kick the habit of them

While the game isn't for me, likely never going to be for me, I am just so happy to see Deadlock doing well and picking up more players. World feels more right with a new Valve game going.

One of the most fun parts of working on #H3VR2 ( @h3vr2.bsky.social ) has been creating posters (or, in this case, digital advertisements) for the world. Here are a couple I just wrapped up - an ad for a tool used to 3D scan the world around you, SCANR, and one for an in-game app. #GameDev #GameArt

Well... we finally shipped the 'content complete' build for H3VR2 to QA last night (1:35am this morning actually). So its just blocking bug fixes from this point on. Feels weird man.

I wish I could express all of the things I think should be done to the people who write this kind of software on any platform.

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

Finally watching the Twelve Monkeys tv show, and this is just Terminator Sarah Conner Chronicles minus the teen sexual tension and autistic robot.

I still genuinely don't understand what I'm supposed to want to pawn off on AI to do for me. I love all the design work I do. I love my meetings. I love my environment design. All of these things speak to each other and would be lesser if I took output no one understood for them.

Do the folks automating this away hate actually doing the work, or just not care about the result? I just don't get it.

It's pretty funny how, in the discussion of everything AI that's being inflicted on us, the group of folks at fault have weirdly escaped scrutiny, namely software developers.
