A venue has cancelled the Dominion Society's booking. "HARRC once again asked venue owners, businesses and community facilities to carefully review bookings and inquiries for this Saturday, and to be aware the group may make plans under a different names, including Ridgeway Media."

The Dominion Society of Canada shares members and supporters and co-creates content with other elements of the white nationalist movement, some of which endorse racist and genocidal violence. It has openly neo-Nazi members.

Initiatives out of Hamilton regarding DomCon have been great to see 🧵 The Hamilton Anti-Racism Resource Centre (HARRC), along with a coalition of organizations, put together a coordinated initiative including a community call to action, a guide for venues, and a petition.

Andrea Horwath, Hamilton’s mayor, denounced both the event and DSC, and distributed a letter to local businesses asking them to be aware of possible bookings. Horwath also committed to the city not renting its facilities to the group.

Being associated with neo-Nazis isn't a problem, according to Tyrie, but their co-founder's posts & photos from when he was a shock jock for a 2SLGBTQ+ radio station–those have become a problem for the white nationalist organization. Some white nationalists, & some DSC supporters, are very angry.

Some content blamed the shooting gender affirming institutions. Some signalled that the media and authorities cannot be trusted because of their recognition of transgender people.

Often, content would denigrate and deny the existence of all transgender persons. For example, portraying them as mentally ill, inherently dangerous, a constant threat to children, and responsible for a wave of violence and/or terrorism.

Rebel Media shared the Montreal shooter's manifesto after watermarking it. Wherever that version appears, you know its source. After Rebel uploaded it, the watermarked manifesto was posted in forums for incels and in forums where people watch gore and death videos. thetyee.ca/Analysis/202...

The shooter was explicit: their manifesto was meant to inspire future attacks. It gives targets, it gives instructions, and it ends with line "Be unflinching, go forth, and KILL THEM ALL!"

The manifesto gives instructions for future acts of terrorism. While there is a public interest in understanding, to have an important discussion, and inform prevention, republishing it in full is incredibly dangerous and irresponsible because we know today's manifestos inspire tomorrow's attacks.

One aspect we haven’t seen discussed is the author denying the existence of transgender people, claiming it is “self-mutilation” and a reaction to men’s unfulfilled need for women. He says this is validated by women and capitalist elites because it eliminates unexceptional men from the gene pool.

While the manifesto has the hallmarks of a mixed and unstable authoritarian ideology, it very clearly begins and ends with misogyny and a feeling of entitlement towards women that he explains (and in his mind solves) with authoritarian and communist ideas.
