the reason people are pining for small town life with a quaint main street isn't some nostalgic desire for a past that never really existed, it's because these are contexts where people feel like they matter and have quality relationships www.vox.com/the-highligh...

And I wrote this for anyone who's spending the holidays alone. * PLAN AHEAD so you're less stressed. * ACCEPT YOUR FEELINGS whatever they are. * FOCUS ON WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO YOU. * TAKE A SOCIAL MEDIA BREAK if you need it. * BE PRESENT. GIVE BACK. REST. www.nytimes.com/2020/11/07/a...

hello skeeters—I am looking to interview people—especially men— w thoughts on self-care, self-reliance, US individualism and how those things have affected your friendships. have you ever stepped back from friendships to focus on yourself? has a friend done that you? is canceling plans self-care?

Two minutes into doing an interview about friendship for a UK publication, Iggy jumped on my desk, knocked over two framed photos, and unplugged my computer. Now he's curled up in, what I call, the pudding cup of the cat tree.

Might I be entering my Miss Cleo era? I'm thinking of setting up a friendship hotline where people get my advice on their friendship troubles. I'd charge a small fee based on how long we talk. Good idea or no?

My new cat Iggy (on the left) cuddled on my lap for the first time last night. Eleanor (right) wasn't a fan of this arrangement. Two minutes later she voted with her feet. *bonus footage of me playing Dave the Diver on my Switch

You are up to date.
