with mere days left in his term, the commissar of the Taylor machine continues to degrade the character of Ann Arbor. unforgivable.

Blimpy Burger is finally open again seven days a week, 11a-11p. Food is as I remember it: delicious. But they had the register at the very beginning, and you place your entire order all at once. I will miss bringing people here for their first time to see how they handle answering simple questions.

Yes, I know #AnnArbor is not New York City but.... #a2council... bsky.app/profile/samd...

it’s worth noting that Zohran has made major policy reforms to legalize development of more market rate housing. On the other hand, New York republicans are super NIMBY and want the government to regulate new housing out of existence with excessive red tape

Our local establishment of post-secondary education is advertising for a job to help the "Inclusive History Project" "engage the community to better understand the institution's full history, including its record of inclusion and exclusion." Low end of salary range? $55K. So you gotta live in Ypsi.

Pour one out for the Kline's lot. The Taylor machine, destroying Ann Arbor's heritage one surface lot at a time. Hopefully Yousef can restore our parking ecosystem to its former glory.

New football strategy- have our underachieving QB run every down till he gets injured, then put in the guy you really want to play- don’t front, you know you’re thinking it

Got a push poll from Mike Rogers. “If Mike Rogers joined the DSA, would you vote for him?” “If Mike Rogers gave you a coupon for 15% off your groceries, would you vote for him?” 🤡 Mike there’s literally nothing you can do to get my vote.

Love it when people see “DSA” and start talking shit. The truth is the people this guy thinks will be wringing their hands actually voted for Yousef because NIMBY! Read something before you post bro.

Market research: What's the worse sin for a hypothetical political candidate for statewide office in Michigan? 1. Being a shill for fascists (my choice) 2. Living in a different state 3. Getting divorced by your wife for shtupping a lobbyist

Thinking about the sickness beneath the conventional wisdom on the Michigan senate race. GOP thinks Abdul is a weaker candidate — why is that? They’ve got their racism all teed up and ready to go, just waiting for the moment to come…

Is "time for a change" the most vapid political slogan/sentiment ever? "Kick the bums out"? Shoot even "Pause the Plan" at least had alliteration. #a2council

I can't think of a starker contrast or a better opportunity for leadership - on the one hand, people wanting to purely make money using a rare resource with little community benefit. On the other, people who need places to live. It's not rocket science, even if airbnb is lobbying you.

Headline: Leaked documents reveal Taylor machine's plans to assimilate entire county "Documents" "leaked" by the "newspaper" Washtenaw Dependent Clause show that Mayor Christopher Taylor's political machine will not stop with dominating the city -- it has its sights set on the entire county! 1/3

"First... Ann Arbor.... then the..... WORLD!" said the selectively edited, purportedly authentic document. "This shows that the Taylor machine will not stop until it achieves total authority over everything," said "publisher" Plum Fresca. 2/3

When asked for a response, the Taylor campaign sent a detailed plan for increasing housing in Ann Arbor which is much too boring and hard to read to post here. /end

Supporters swooned with delight at this new proclamation. One Rabhi booster, the trailing wife of a U-M chemical engineering professor, sat on the porch of her Burns Park home of 35 years and praised the statement. "Rahbi will bring righteousness back to Ann Arbor," she said, "which has ... 2/3

Oh no! The purity of our intercollegiate athletics!

In a letter sent to Michigan fans, athletic director Warde Manuel noted that the university is considering several “innovative revenue streams,” including jersey patches, on-field and on-court logos, in-game sponsorships and digital scoreboard advertising.

Or in other words, increased number of threats prompted heightened police presence. Framing, Mr. Stanton. #a2council
