This fox had no other medical concerns and was released back just a few hours later. We’re very grateful to the community member who contacted us right away. Because of their quick action, we were able to secure and help him before any injuries occurred.

Just before the New Year, HLEO Henry and Deputy Chief Smokoska responded to a call about a fox that had become trapped in a net. When they arrived, they found the fox completely entangled. He had dragged the net into a fence line, which caused it to wrap even tighter around his body.

The officers were able to remove the net from his legs on scene, but the material was tightly wrapped around his neck so with the help of Kristi's Caring Hands Wildlife Rehab, the fox was transported to Blue Ridge Wildlife Center where he was sedated and the remaining netting was removed.

Feeling frosty? Laxus agrees! This bearded dragon loves basking under his heat lamp, he’s ectothermic (aka cold-blooded), so the warmth keeps him comfy. When not warming up, he enjoys baths, fresh veggies, and meeting people! 🦎 We're open for adoptions 11am-6pm, stop by today!
