In the first 100 days I will dig down into the place of honor. On day one I will issue an Executive Order that the radical woke warning signs be removed and anyone perpetuating the "dangerous and repulsive" lie to be terminated. I will restore the country by touching the ancient treasures.

I just wish we had more info you know? Like on how things go when new medium-range missiles in allied countries start ranging adversary strategic forces? Maybe in jam-packed region featuring a country split into two along ideological divide? Some historical comparison? Ah I'm sure it's fine

Japan’s Type-25 missile system has a reported range of about 620 miles. From Kyushu, the missiles could potentially reach parts of China’s coastline and North Korea.

So I don't want to oversell this but our 2024 EV percentage after day 2 was R+2.5. Right now it's D+17.7 So a 20 point swing in the largest suburban county in the country that had resisted some previous blue waves.

No way???

Like which of these safeguards could be realistically reconstituted? Any of them? Putting aside the betrayal of the original deal and the sabotage of current negotiations, could Iran even materially offer these things now? So wth are US/IL even able to demand, short of very obvious nonstarters?

So we’re back to negotiating the JCPOA after spending billions of dollars, depleting our weapons’ stockpiles, and costing American families $2000+ due to war-induced inflation 🤷‍♀️ Plus Bibi is likely to strike again before the Israeli election, making any possible deal moot.

200 positions is probably greater than the sum total of experts employed to examine whether or not this weapon will be strategically sound to build, deploy, and potentially use. $194M would transform the field overnight and save a generation of expertise, even over a much longer timeline

Particularly salty already today but you just gotta love peering over the fence sometimes. $194,000,000 "will add approximately 200 positions," mostly engineering / fab jobs, and a little extra for facility upgrades. $970k per position for two years.

Trump take egg

An Egg McMuffin with OJ is now over 10 bucks. If you’re working a minimum wage job, that’s more than half an hour’s work in Arizona, and even more in many other states. Everything is more expensive in Trump’s economy.

TL;DR as we close in on the first anniversary of the Burevestnik test on 21 October 2025, the test site at Pankovo is currently still crewed and operational and the support vessels are still up there. Whether another test happens or not; we can only wait and see.

Q: If it wasn't you, then who gave the order for Starlink to go down in Ukraine? TRUMP: I don't know

Unaccountable capricious behavior constantly for all of our partners but please, Bridge, tell me more about how we need theater nukes to reassure our allies

Professa Murray@kalimurray.bsky.social

So, based on news reports alone: (a) a directive came from the White House; and (b) it appears that the Senators think that Hegseth and Colby initiated the slowdown of Starlink capabilities to Ukraine. It When you read the letter, they are asking for briefing by November 1.

Like I'm even willing to entertain the ideas behind nuclear sharing as an function of alliance-maintenance but my god they're 50 steps past "Maintain info-sharing with a partner as they fight for existence" and 500 steps beyond "Don't torch your decades-built reputation for plainly corrupt reasons"

If you can't build a partnership between governments that comes from an overall mutual desire to maintain the structures around both and sustain it for a very long time, no weapon and no transactional "deal" can patch over a fundamentally unworkable state of strategy + diplomacy

I cannot say enough how much making a gotcha point about the president "not actually dropping a nuclear bomb" is counterproductive to the goal of him *not actually dropping a nuclear bomb.*

Andrew Facini reposted

It is simultaneously important that everyone else know the "MOAB" is less explosive than even the smallest nuclear warheads and also that the President remains convinced he has dropped the biggest bomb anyone has ever dropped.

Andrew Facini@andrewfacini.com

A reminder

MOAB was only used once, in Afghanistan in 2017, because of concerns about killing civilians. It still killed civilians in that attack. Embarrassing bomb in general. To outright be like "yeah we might drop it on a power plant" is humiliating to begin with. Harm today, enabled by "optionality"

theintercept.com"Mother of All Bombs" Never Used Before Due to Civilian Casualty ConcernsWhen it first introduced the bomb, the Pentagon said it was designed to terrify America’s enemy into submission.
