Feeling better now that the morphine is kicking in. Bike wreck this afternoon. Broken elbow. Broken Ribs. Shoulder sore but OK, which is cool because I trashed it in another bike crash a while back. #cycling

Today on AppAddict - Looking for a collaborator. Interested? Reach Out! - https://appaddict.app/post/looking-for-a-collaborator-interested-reach-out - #Mac #macOS #MacApps

appaddict.appLooking for a collaborator. Interested? Reach Out!I've written Mac app reviews for about two and a half years. It started the way it usually does: I shared apps from my own stack. Then I moved on to random picks from my Applications folder, and after that to scouting trusted sites like MacMenuBar.com. The r/MacApps mods on Reddit added me as a trusted resource early on, which helped a lot. Eventually I started working with developers directly. It's been a great experience, and it has put me in touch with Mac people all over the world. I've written more than 500 reviews. The main goal is still sharing cool apps with other users, but helping independent developers get exposure has become my thing too. I'm still plugging away, but I can't keep up with the dozens of apps pitched to me every week. I retired from a career in Mac support a few years ago, and some health issues cap how much I can get done. I have over 200 apps in my backlog. So I'm looking for a collaborator or two to write for AppAddict. Ideally you're an experienced Mac user with equal passion for software and writing. Here's what you'd get: • Free NFR licenses for the apps you test and write about • A byline on a blog that has had more than 1 million page views since 2024 • FOSS apps are fair game too; I cover those as well At first I'll be your copy editor. I'm hoping to find someone who clicks with the style I aim for, so that eventually I can just share posting rights. To be clear, this isn't a paying gig. It's a labor of love. The blog isn't monetized beyond two affiliate links for reputable companies. If you think you'd be a good fit, reach out. Send a link to something you've written and a couple of Mac apps you'd want to cover.

Seeking a collaborator for AppAddict: an experienced Mac user with a passion for software and writing. Receive fully licensed (NFR) copies of new apps to test and writing credit on AppAddict.app. Over 1,000,000 page views since 2024. #Mac #Writing

appaddict.appAppAddictI emphasize honest, practical reviews from my perspective as a power user and productivity enthusiast — not a marketer I have a particular fondness for the indie Mac scene, privacy-respecting software, open-source tools, and workflow...

It’s a foggy morning on Rockfish Creek, a tributary of the Cape Fear River—largely undeveloped and the perfect place to get away.

Smiling from the first mile to the finish line. Wonder Woman ran the half-marathon as part of a relay team in a sanctioned Ironman race in Wilmington. #running #ironman #triathlon

A Carolina Wren, pretty common here. They aren’t shy and seem to be curious. They’ll often land close to where I sit to check me out #birds

Got lucky —was practicing macro shots when this butterfly landed right in front of me. Such a perfect little surprise! #photography #macro

Our Harper is a Wonder Woman in training. She finished in the top 10 in a five school cross country meet, as a 7th grader and two days later finished in the top 10 in a community 11k race against all comers.

Hey guys, if you’re ever tempted to say “not all men”, don’t. Use your energy being a role model and a force for change.

On this day in 2019, I visited Derry in Northern Ireland. As we stood in front of this mural, our guide pointed to a spot across Rossville Street and said “That’s where my father was shot by British paras.” He was one of 14 unarmed civil rights demonstrators killed on Bloody Sunday.

When I have leftovers, I like to carefully store them in airtight containers in the fridge for a few days. Then I throw them away. Throwing them away immediately seems wasteful.

A fun day. In 2023, Wonder Woman became the oldest female to ever complete the grueling Pilot Mountain to Hanging Rock 50-mile Ultramarathon. Then we got tacos.

It promises to be a moist day. We rode out Hurricane Helene near here in 2024. - Mountain City, TN. The most physically/mentally rigorous days of my life were spent hiking rainy mountain ridges. #hiking

My grandson, a college freshman, can no longer walk without assistance, but he can pedal the hell out of his trike and accompanies Wonder Woman in charity rides a couple of times a year. He has Friedreich’s Ataxia.

It is more important to be good than it is to be nice. That is something a revolutionary understands instinctively but some liberals need to be taught.

The fog over the Black River in Sampson County, NC, reveals some of the world’s oldest cypress trees. They’re unmarked for their own protection—but if you paddle the river, you’ll glide right past them. #Nature #NorthCarolina

My dad carried this knife during his tour with the 4th Infantry Division in the central highlands of #Vietnam in 1970-71. It was made in Camillus, NY. #knives

We got a strong rainbow game this morning. I’m inspired. I think I will tell a few people that I love them. And any Nazis I see are definitely getting punched.

Late summer morning by the French Broad River in Hot Springs, NC, about a mile from the Appalachian Trail. It’s great little trail town - cheap food, good hostels, free wifi, friendly people

I was accidentally partially responsible for a bottle of Tide Laundry Detergent ending up in our house. Now Wonder Woman is acting like I bought seven nights of caviar for supper. She thinks I have a trust fund.

I introduced my friend, Peyton, to road cycling and a year later he and I rode 200 miles in two days over the flat but windy roads of coastal NC in a fundraiser. #cycling

My granddaughter, Jolene, riding the stallion, Leo, for the first time in competition. They finished the show jumping course in good time with no faults.
