I know figure skating fans are totally sick of hearing “El Tango de Roxanne,” but I highly recommend watching Boston University’s Madison Ortiz absolutely body her Senior Solo Dance performance from the Violet Ice Classic.

Absolutely loved Milly Wasserman’s Novice Solo Dance set to a Britney Spears medley from the Violet Ice Classic on Saturday. Wasserman won silver in the event, and NYU finished the weekend second overall.

I think I finally hit my tap out point on figure skating. I don’t have three hours of Team Maneuvers in me.

They’re playing the Cha Cha Silde between events here at the Violet Ice Classic and almost every skater (and even some judges) are getting into it. Seriously the vibes at an intercollegiate skating event are immaculate. It’s like a supersized World Team Trophy.

College Football this season…

It took almost six hours, but I finally got a Tango de Roxanne program at this event.

I’ve seen at least half a dozen Disney programs at this collegiate skating competition, which is funny because I’m leaving it early to go see Disney On Ice

Got to see someone skate a solo dance to “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” so this has definitely been a worthwhile trip.

No GP de France for me today because I’m going to the Violet Ice Classic, an intercollegiate skating competition, then Disney on Ice.

I got to wear an actual figure skating gold medal from the 2026 Olympics tonight. Huge thanks to Ellie Kam for letting me do that.

I was in the tiny minority of fans who enjoyed the ‘90s rhythm dances (at least at first) but my god this is such a massive upgrade for this season. Music, costumes, skating, all of it. Just worlds better. #GPFigure
