I'm getting an itch to start streaming TTRPGs again. Definitely Fate for the system, but I'd like to visit a collection of ideas. * Star Trek: Maquis—a different take on Voyager. * The Distance—999 years ago your generation ship filled with aliens crashed on a planet without resources for repair.

* The Wailing Winds—A wailing wind was released on the world, causing those who hear it to either go crazy or become servants of dark power. Only the deaf are immune. * Fantasy World First Responders * Coming Out of Retirement for One Last Adventure—gotta save your grandkids

The Blades in the Dark SRD snapshot, comparing this year and last year. It also has started to see a drop in visitors starting in Feb of this year. The number of people is larger than Fate's but as a percentage it is much smaller.

First, I pay for Fathom Analytics. It has just enough analytics and does not share the data. Both sites are coded to honor the Do Not Track setting in the browser. I've have almost two years of data for both sites.

I'm four long sessions in and the Daggerheart TTRPG is really scratching my itch for D&D-style play. Creating encounters is easy and fun. Playing it at the table is fast and it keeps the energy up. It helps that I'm converting Curse of the Crimson Throne. It lets me focus just on system stuff.

Daggerheart has a great play experience at the table. The only drawback to the game is when you're away from the table, there isn't much to ponder about your character. Pathfinder 1e gives me hours of play outside the table as a PC—looking up feats and spells.

Being honest though, most of the TTRPGs I've played in the last decade don't have a lot of away from the table experience. Perhaps it is my D&D 3e roots that make me crave spending hours pouring over my PC's level up choices.

Random TTRPG dice mechanic—setting floors & ceilings for a d20 roll. As a Bard, the lowest you can roll on a d20 is equal to your level. If you roll less than your level, count it as having rolled a value equal to your level. There are certain skills that some classes just shouldn't fail outright.

The monster has chitinous armor and with each hit you remove chunks of it. The monster has "Ceiling 13", meaning all rolls above this number are counted as having rolled a 13. Each hit adds one to this number. Once it reaches 20 the ceiling is removed.

Play Daggerheart or Pathfinder for a D&D feel. Play Fate, Blades in the Dark, or Brindlewood Bay when you're ready to level up.

I started a new campaign. One guiding principle I'm using is that all loot has to have flavor. Something that feeds the story of the world. All of the healing and stamina potions the PCs started with were from the poor part of town. That wizard they took out? He had one from a fancy place.

When it comes to running an TTRPG campaign, one of the best things you can do as a GM is to instill a feeling of the world being lived-in. Sure, my Daggerheart game could just have simple potions but then I would miss out on a great world-building opportunity. Bonus: Get the players to contribute.

Will this fact prove interesting? Not today. BUT, it does signal to the players who they may be dealing with. A bunch of goblins with high-end healing potions? Are they backed by a nobleperson? (High-end does not mean more powerful, BTW. It is just a label.)

For instance, I rolled random loot and turned up Manacles. I wrote some stuff to reinforce the city's love of order. Player (reading card): This must be a campaign item. We'll have to talk to the guards. Me (scribbling furiously): Of course it's a campaign item...

There was a lot of resistance to it. People don't like change. AND, all this was happening as the rest of US culture was also changing. Free love, hippies, communes, anti-war, etc.

Prior to Vatican II, priests would face away from the congregation—facing God—and recite mass in Latin. Vatican II was a bold move to make going to church more accessible to the people.

Isn't this a telling aspiration? To want robots to look after your kids, so you can do stuff, rather than robots to do stuff, so you can spend time with your kids? The darkness inside these shrivelled men must be like a gaping unfillable void.

I want to run more Daggerheart to make sure, but it may end up being a regular staple in my GM toolkit.

Kicked the tires on Daggerheart this weekend. The short version: I’m going to run a TTRPG campaign with it. Fate is my ride or die, but I’ve been wanting something with more crunch.

The book gives lots of example opponents and gives them types. But I have freedom to use any of the game’s hooks—hope, fear, countdown clocks, actions, stress, hit points, armor slots, etc.

Daggerheart hits the sweet spot. The currencies of Hope and Fear flow fast and furiously. Prep is easy and leans into what I want most, the ability to invent abilities.

JD Vance supports murdering American citizens. He's made that perfectly clear today. If he's willing to defend the murder of Renee Good, he would defend your murder, too.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

JD Vance accuses the slain Renee Good of perpetrating "an attack on federal law enforcement, an attack on law and order, and attack on the American people" "That woman was there to interfere with a legitimate law enforcement operation," he adds, repeatedly referring to her as "that woman"
