Will be un-deploying Blue Wrapper by end of week, due to the growing list of dependency vulnerabilities. Until I have time to address them and actually upgrade versions, please use another web wrapper for your AT Protocol needs.

Colorways are out for the Blue Wrapper. Starting thing off with six additional colors; green, yellow, orange, red, purple, and lavender. Depending on feedback I might shift some hues around to be more accessible/more visually pleasing.

Hey all, here’s an update on rooms: I merged it with a closed feature flag for the time being. The biggest reason for doing this is so you’re able to change your message privacy settings in prod.

I should also mention, you will need a privileged app password to use messages when they are supported. However, this is not a requirement to use other portions of the wrapper.

Just to clarify, “rooms” is the term I’m using to refer to ATProto DMs in the Blue Wrapper. Was the cleanest alternative that came to mind. This might also change later on, but I like how it sounds at the moment.

Pretty simple update to the notifications page. Not the cleanest at the moment, though still allows you to set your "seenAt" datetime. Happy to finally get this in here.

The native ATP view is going by surprisingly smoothly. Obv some items (like media) are going to be a little less visible in this view but it doesn't require an AppView to render.

The composer is still in very early works, though some of the core stuff is in there. Will probably tackle design once rest of base-line features are done.

I’m holding out for that AT Proto merch. There’s still hope.

Stop, stare, and share. 📹 We’re so excited to announce Bluesky Shorts! bsky.social/about/blog/0...

Got those tasty embeds working now on staging. Had to cut off the insane record recursion because it wouldn’t look right once you exceeded one. Should hopefully make the wrapper less likely to explode now.

Bit of a long thread, but here’s some news on the Blue Wrapper.

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of the Blue Wrapper, a passion project of mine whose goal was to interact with the ATP through a web interface – since one had not existed yet at the time. More in 🧵

Am the same person but it is insane just how fast one year came and went.

Exactly one year ago, I made a Bluesky account. I had no idea how that would shape the next year of my life. #MyBlueskyAnniversary

For those who celebrate, I wish you all a wonderful thanksgiving. Regardless, I am very thankful for those who continue to make this community a joy to come back to.

Very happy to see this. The Blue Wrapper has served its purpose. 🫡

Exciting news: We’re taking another step to making Bluesky an open network for public conversations. Around the end of this month, we’ll release a public web interface. With this, you’ll be able to view posts on Bluesky without being logged in on an account.

Quick update on the Blue Wrapper: Reworked the branding to help it align a little more with the interface and such. This new one has been pushed to main, for the time being. Might change it back depending on what people think though.

After a brief moment where this profile was not available because Bluesky changed the domain verification process, it is officially back. For some reason it was perfectly accessible through non-authenticated records, just not on authenticated ones.

Delectable stats 🤌

Some new Bluesky stats for y'all. We've seen ~400,000 posts per day for the past 9 days Alt text usage has been holding steady at around ~26% Around 15% of posts include images. Daily active Posters floats around 70k Daily active Likers floating around 90k

When logged in, the Blue Wrapper now blurs images when the "Flagged Accounts" label is toggled on. Sorry for the late delay on this push but at least it's added now.

I'm also doing some thinking on the design of the navigation bar and *might* get something that looks relatively cleaner pushed later this week. Can't make any promises though.

In addition, users should now be able to generate their own data cache from atp tooling. The whole process only takes a couple minutes. https://blue.amazingca.dev/tools

I am pleased to announce that after some time, the DID cache has finally been updated. The list now contains 488723 users. For those interested in downloading the scrape of that DID information, which contains creation dates and associated handles, the 395mb file can be found in my personal repo.
