For ALICE 2027 we're excited to have as speaker and project leader Julian Togelius (@togelius.bsky.social ) is professor NYU, where he co-directs the Game Innovation Lab, and incoming professor of AI at Chalmers. His work spans open-endedness, creativity, and using games to test and improve AI.

ALICE 2027 we're excited to have as speaker and project leader: Arend Hintze is Professor at Dalarna University, Sweden. Arend's work explores what environments and evolutionary pressures give rise to intelligence, and how cognitive mechanisms evolved.

What a great week at the @aliceworkshop.org (Artificial Life, Intelligence, Complexity & Evolution) in Copenhagen. Our multidisciplinary group worked intensely for the whole week and we got the 2nd prize!! Thanks to the amazing organizers from the REAL lab and the jury.

I was graciously given a tutorial slot to have a chat with scientists at ALICE about how science papers end up becoming science news and just generally answer questions about how science journalism works The questions were great (esp. the tougher ones about bad journalism ;)) - thanks everyone!
