HEADS UP OBS USERS ON WINDOWS: Multi part post. OBS 33 consolidated how plugins are loaded to a single folder. It's actually a good change especially in terms of security. However, in version 34, all plugins installed in non standard locations will not load anymore.

When OBS 34 eventually releases, this will make so all non updated plugins will fail to load. So far, a bunch of plugins updated their Windows installers already but there are a lot to do still. OBS gives about a year for plugin developers to update their installers or instructions.

The OBS portable version as well as Mac and Linux versions shouldn't be affected by this change. Make sure to check the OBS Forums to see if your plugins get updated. Many plugins have PRs already on GitHub to update the installers.

The madlads did it. Just as advertised, as of yesterday's update, @steampowered.com 's Remote Play from Linux to Linux, hardware accelerated, in Pipewire mode, is now fully fixed. Gaming in bed is about be very fun. :)

Many third party bots have done it for a while, but a native implementation is cool especially for new streamers.

Twitch will soon add a new moderation feature called "Chat Noise Reduction." The optional feature will let you restrict languages and set limits on message length, capital letters, ASCII art, repetitive posts, and more.

Please tell every single Android user they have a QR code scanner built in, NO APP REQUIRED. If the built in camera doesn't, the Google app has it. I'm sick of people who think otherwise.

Wow. LOISH got accused of using Ai to make her art. I started following her on early deviantart. I remember first seeing her paintings in college. This is ridiculous, no one is safe. Artists Ive followed for actual decades are getting harassed because their work has been stolen and regurgitated.

SRC changed their terms of use yesterday, and released a news post with an FAQ. They make it sound like not a big deal. It's a big deal. The Creative Commons licence is gone. They claim ownership over the data now. Thread about what this means, and what we can do about it 🧵

I underestimated how a very simple change (having a vtuber model instead of no camera on stream for when life gives me lemons and don't want to show myself) made me nervous. While starting stream last night I was feeling nauseous but then everyone loved it and it went well. I'm grateful. 💜

I FINALLY FIXED TEB FOR MY STREAM! YAY! Thanks to Microslop, if you don't enable the Xbox Game Bar and Game Mode, OBS won't be able to fully tap into AMD video drivers for hardware encoding. Let me know if you need some help, because today was a learning experience.

For context, it's also kind of my fault, as my Windows 11 install on this encoder rig is heavily optimized and I completely forgot about the dependencies on Xbox Game Mode for some GPU driver features. This is stupid, this shouldn't be a thing. Microslop at its worst.
