I currently have availability for #Rails or #ElixirLang Phoenix web app development. 20+ years of exp. ranging from rapidly building MVPs up to working on massively scalable systems. Hotwire, Stimulus, Tailwind, LiveView. Ideally work with small, fast-moving teams. Any leads very much appreciated!

I'm available for dev work. 20 years of Rails experience, building more apps than I can remember - usually solo or leading a small team. Bunch of Elixir Phoenix apps in prod too (❤️ Elixir) More about me at xenocode.co.jp Always very happy to chat about any ideas or projects! #ruby #elixirlang

Made an #elixirlang SDK for bentonow.com email marketing automation service hex.pm/packages/ben... I love adding docs as liveview documents, makes it so easy to “show rather than tell” how to use and work with it.

Cookie pretending she’s not interested but tail giving the game away.

I’ve got some availability for new projects and wanted to put the word out. If you or someone you know is looking for help with #Rails (my specialty for 20 years!) or #ElixirLang Phoenix (big LiveView fan), let’s chat! Interested in everything from full-stack projects, perf op or team aug. Cheers!

のくちーず (Nokucheese) is a bakery recently opened in Mizonokuchi. The name is a terrible pun: (Mizo)noku~chi ➡️ noku~cheese 🤦🏼‍♀️ The crusty bread is amazing 🍞and tricky to find in Japan. Nokucheese was recently opened by @jason.jagaimo.com who I know… which is also surprising 😂

I keep finding cool 3rd-party apps and projects built for Bluesky, so I've started to collect them all here: justinjackson.ca/best-bluesky... Did I miss any?

Oh that's right, it's Black Friday! Buy my book for cheap, or don't. Kindle is $€£ 5 bc it's nearing 5,000 copies sold! I'd set the paperback at that price, too, but I'd make negative money so Amazon won't let me. So it's $€£ 9.99 www.amazon.co.uk/Deploy-Empat... www.amazon.de/Deploy-Empat...

This post is so good and is well worth your time if you're a founder / product leader / product manager. Concise + accessible presentation of how to use JTBD for strategic product decision making strategyn.com/the-secret-t...

I've often fancied setting up an Unoffice Hours, inspired by Matt Webb's thing. I should definitely do that. interconnected.org/home/2020/09...

I started phxlvweekly.com for #ElixirLang Phoenix & LiveView news a couple of years back but then started a time-intensive Ruby gig and couldn't find the time to do write a good post each week. Since I've finished that contract and am back on the freelance market, thinking I'd love to resurrect.

My co-founder of AgendaScope.com blogged about how we solved our problem of creating multiple and evolving demo accounts using a custom script language in #ElixirLang. It’s rather neat, I think! mattmower.com/posts/make-d...

We use mailpace.com for sending transactional emails. Except I can honestly never remember their name - they changed from ohmysmtp.com years ago and I *always* remember that and go there and get redirected. Was a _much_ better name if you ask me. mailpace is so generic.

I mean, obviously

So I guess I'm available for #Ruby on #Rails or #ElixirLang Phoenix contracts again! 20 years of working with Rails, most of my career working remotely for US, UK and Australian companies, built more Rails apps that I can remember, happiest in small, fast moving (and sometimes 'scrappy') teams.

If anyone ever points out that I'm wrong about anything, I'm just going to answer with "I apologise for the confusion"

That has me beat! But some of my previous jobs: - McDonalds. Got a regular “lacks hustle” on my reviews. - Night-shift order picking at DIY mega warehouse. Walked a *lot* - Typing numbers from a hand written paper into a green screen terminal. Just numbers. All day. Numbers. Nothing else.

Saturday morning. Finally feeling autumnal here. Not bad, not bad at all.

Absolutely fascinating to watch the increasing flow of tech-adjacent folks arriving to bsky and announcing their move to here. Not a tipping point yet, but it doesn't feel impossible anymore. Not inevitable, but certainly a possibility, especially for a lot of the tech crowd that I'm interested in.

does everybody know about my favorite website, the embroidery tips page that forgot to close its <h3> tags

I'm trying to create a list of Elixir devs on Bsky, please help me out and point me to people who are missing there 🙃 And if YOU are an Elixir dev and you're not on BSky yet, consider joining! #MyElixirStatus

After spending 30 mins with ATproto docs and playing with some quick code, I have about a zillion ideas of things I want to build.

🤣

As a re-intro for folks finding me here from twttr - long-time Rails developer, fan & author - loves Elixir/Phoenix - Brit that calls Fukuoka, Japan home - for now - co-founder of AgendaScope.com - founder of xenocode.co.jp - addicted to building web apps - has a pup called Cookie - always learning

Ages ago I published a Google Sheet for founders/makers on Bluesky. I just created a Starter Pack featuring all the people on that list: go.bsky.app/9Xi4xtt

Interesting influx of new followers on here. Haven't looked at bsky's progress for a while, I should take another look.

In Miyazaki for the weekend. Going to watch the Japanese baseball team vs Hawks. Not really my thing, but wife & kid are super excited, so I’m excited that they’re excited! Nice change of scenery.

Curious to see how Bluesky does in the brave new world of post-twitter networks.
