I guess I should have an introduction post to pin then, huh? Hi! I'm Aki~ I'm a low-level/systems software and hardware engineer~ I like to joke that i'm a IBM S/360 tsukumogami in the form of the catgirl but that might be more than just a silly joke at this point. I hope to see you around!

I *think* It's 600 seconds (10 minutes), I had to do network traffic inspection and look at the HTTP headers to find out, but that sounds about right, Time for a break I guess...

mmmm, rice and beans for every meal for the next two weeks for this catgirl, I did ensure Annie has plenty of available wet and dry food, as for me, glad I still have a few bags of rice and dried beans :v

Also had a flatpak problem with Zotero where due to me creating attachment links to files local on my disk, the mount path was invalidated causing them to break, but only for some of them? I'm unsure, but it's annoying.

In general, while Zotero *is* nice, It doesn't *quite* fit, but it's close! I've also looked at paperless-ngx, but that doesn't fit either... I might resurrect and improve bookwurm, I think I could build up something that properly fits my needs better than trying to beat another tool into shape

Don't get me wrong, for what it is Zotero is fantastic! I especially love the browser extension and being able to just send stuff into it. But it's painful in just a handful of ways which make it a bit of a slog to use.

I have a whole pile of bugs I need to report to KDE, but i'm not sure if some of them are from the applications themselves or kwin being broken or both, and it's so damn frustrating...

Like, I still have the issue where when I spawn a new Konsole window it will spawn on a random desktop and force me to switch there, not on the desktop I started it on. And that sounds like a Konsole bug, but remember, wayland is stupid so windows can't decide where they go, so maybe it's kwin?

we've created a no AI notice to reassure people seeing our trailers and games with hand drawn lettering and a relaxing cute fox, and it's also up on itch in multiple formats* for anyone to use: eniko.itch.io/cute-fox-no-... *with/without fox, transparent/opaque, in 4k, 2160p, 1440p, 1080p, and 720p

I am thinking about moving from nixops to OpenTofu + Ansible, I'm not familiar enough with either of them to know if it'll be able to fully replace it for me, but we'll see. Would be nice to be able to do update/patch management centrally via thaat system as well, mmm... Dunno!

Maybe OpenTelemetry would fit the bill for that last bit? I really just want to roughly keep track of service health, system cpu/mem/disk usage, and patch/update status. And then get notifications for alerts.

and it's all done on a per-user basis so it's easy for me to spin up web/email/dns/db for a friend just by stamping out a new nix file with the details and it all just works:tm: I would like to have something like that still, but just not have to suffer with nix, lol...

migrating DKIM keys is likely going to be a huge pain in the ass, ugh. But, I might play with seeing if I can hack something up with OpenTofu + Ansible, I would also like to be able to collect system telemetry, but i'm not sure what would be best for that.

I have a horrible tangled mess of nix files to describe my infra right now, but it's nice that all the common config stuff is in one spot, and then each part of the system knows how to set itself up based on that (e.g. email, dns, web)

more wayland woes; I tried to set up some window rules for kwin so it would move some specific editor windows to a target virtual desktop when they opened. But, they just outright don't work even though the rules match...

all of the numberphile guys have confirmed mathematically that there is nothing an an attractive anthro woman in a black tanktop and camo pants won't fix

It's getting cold enough that she's started to be a blanket cat again. Earlier she woke me up so I would lift up the covers so she could crawl under them and lay next to me. She is such a little baby and I love her so so so so much.

Got derailed and trying to get the last of this bit of work done before I try to crank out the last 5h I need, And like clockwork, just as I'm just getting into it Annie comes up, bites me on the arm, and when I look at her she gently boops my nose with hers and then bites my arm *again*

speaking of the little creature, she was sitting on my desk and gently pawed at me cheek so I would look at her. She then proceeded to try to bite me on the chin because I stopped squishing my face into her neck for a bit because I need to actually do things....

It seems like a large oversight of Lollypop that you can't add a whole album to the playing queue and you need to add it one song at a time. Less than ideal... I really do need to find a better music player/library manager,

It feels so strange how you can *feel* when the ADHD meds kick in, but can't quite describe it accurately, or at least I can't. You know that feeling when you open your eyes really wide and can feel the stretch around the corners? It's kinda like that but for your brain (not physically) I think...
