Me, after spending half an hour desperately trying to wrench a painted on fire alarm from the ceiling, finally realizing a butter knife could help me do the job in 2 minutes.

Mayor Mamdani frantically fixing the subway tracks, struggling to look enthusiastic and keep a huge smile on his face, as the rush hour 3 train hurtles toward doom because Doc Ock has destroyed the track and brakes, while Spidey stands by looking useless.

Trailer -[Black screen slowly gains color and definition as camera pulls back from close-up of Max Cady’s tear tattoo to reveal Cady, in prison, sitting at visitor window] Female voice, shaking: “Max, it’s not right you’re in prison again. I know I’m responsible. I want to make it up to you.”

This Wilson / Nolan dust up is gonna be like those battles the poet sang of long ago, in which Athena, daughter of Zeus, she of the bright eyes and dark mien, swoops down from Olympus to pluck a combatant from the field because he or she is dear to her and then, later on

Scorcese: “ You know, in retrospect my original take on Cape Fear was too restrained. And didn’t go far enough in giving Max Cady a backstory. I’m gonna make another, but this one’s going to be 6 times as long and ten times crazier! No - let’s make it twenty times crazier for good measure!”

While we’re on the topic of the Odyssey, if Hollywood is determined to release Homeric epics featuring each member of the Ocean’s Eleven cast, I’m waiting for the Iliad featuring Elliot Gould as Achilles, Bert as Patrouklos and Grover as Hector.

Unfortunately, as we’ve seen, far too many attorneys and compliance professionals view their roles this way, which has done so much in contributing to the erosion of the rule of law and our constitutional system of government in the US. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

There is no conceivable reason to give a company that burns cash like a blast furnace & has no foreseeable path to profitability a US loan guarantee, especially when it benefits nobody except VC investors and management. The company delivers no essential service & no plausible benefit to taxpayers.

“C’mon guys, we really ought to forgive the Red Skull his youthful indiscretions and nominate him for higher office so we don’t alienate all his Hydra supporters and so he can bring his extraordinary Hydra charisma and ideology to the US Senate”

The President of the United States, Secretary of Defense, & world’s richest man (who helped get the President elected & served as a key advisor) all regularly engage in behavior that would get them escorted from the building by HR of any employer, government agency or nonprofit. Let that sink in.

If someone’s spending all their time & energy trying their hardest to get you to hate folks that are different from you, instead of running the 37 different companies they’re supposed to be leading as CEO, a good rule of thumb is to ask why.

The world lost someone today who represented the best of humanity, while deepening our understanding of what that means, & of other creatures on our shared planet. A life well lived, pursuing meaning & her passion until the very end. RIP Dr Goodall & thank you. www.theguardian.com/science/2025...

Would not be surprised at all if Putin’s recent incursions into NATO (including US) airspace, Hegseth’s summoning of the flag officers to Quantico, Trump’s deployment of troops to Portland and Zelinskyy’s warning of a potential Russian attack on another European country are linked. 1/

Putin and Trump are desperate and running out of time to secure their agendas. Rubio and Wiles’s reactions to the Putin -Trump Alaska summit were a tell that something fishy and awful was discussed and Trump at least did not push back. The Hegseth meeting is unprecedented and reeks of a purge.
