Imagine calling a snap election only to lose. Not sure how I feel about conservatives, but Eby had to go. Couldn't keep a health minister, couldn't address affordability (a key campaign focus of the conservatives) and couldn't get a bridge, no, a tunnel, no, a bridge built.

Investors should start asking themselves, "what could possibly go wrong?" Are they okay with that scenario happening to them before deciding to write a cheque? Warhound raises $200M to engineer war dogs and arm them with Anduril gear | TechCrunch share.google/8RdcQdCoEKca...

Is the Vancouver municipal election a sign of things to come in next week's Provincial election? Lackluster performance from the NDP could open the door for a Green minority.

@bcgreens.bsky.social have a huge opportunity in running a platform to strengthen core public services like education and healthcare. Yes, the environment is important. Think they're being smart by focusing on affordability and services accessibility. Be the NDP that the NDP has failed to be.

If Quebec can elect a minority PQ government who ran on a separatist platform within a province where the majority are not in favor of separation. BC can elect a minority Green government in frustration with the multiple failings of our current NDP government.

Smart glasses garner privacy concerns. People may lack the necessary skill to simply pick-up and go on an e-scooter safely. What other tech is emerging with obvious issues?

BC government calls a snap election and I'm suddenly very motivated to read the platforms of the other parties. This is pure politics and not what BC needed right now.

It's tree pickup day in Vancouver, hurray! This year, our family bought two Japanese maple and an Emperor Magnolia.

I've never seen healthcare and politics seemingly discourage someone so fast. BC's newly appointed Minister of Health isn't seeking re-election. He saw our tech stack, acknowledged that 60+ digital health services are interoperable and said, "I'm out!"

Feels like a power grab. I hate that BC politics feels like it's become a two-party system (with one party lacking a leader and favoring extreme views). I feel like we don't have a choice and perhaps Eby is trying to capitalize on that. www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/ar...

Delivery company: we would like to schedule a delivery Me: sure, why? Delivery: your package is being delivered on a pallet. Me: 😱 (for reference, it's a yogibo beanbag) free upcycle wood, but also, oh god, what have I purchased!

The vacancy of a daily routine ends this week. Parents rejoice as children return to daycare and school! A lack of school routine is especially hard on our family with a neurodivergent child.

Apotex is a pharmaceutical company. "Apotek" is "pharmacy" in Norwegian (as well as Swedish, Danish and a few others). Coincidence?

This is an odd headline. Can't you just say a Humpback whale was spotted? if you're interested, Humpbacks are the 6th largest species.

Mark I SkyTrain car use on 29 degree days should be illegal. 🥵 For anyone not from Vancouver, Mark I cars, while super nostalgic, do not have AC.

This bothers me. I have ADHD and Autism. I acknowledge each provides unique strengths. They also cause me distress and impairment on a daily basis. A diagnosis is based on a level of impairment among a list of "agreed upon" symptoms. This clarity then aids seeking and receiving help!

Open air balconies make no sense in a climate like Vancouver. Enclosed balconies would increase livable space while also adding an additional barrier to reduce street noise.

Rant. Yes, home ownership is prohibitively expensive in Vancouver, especially for young folks/families. New housing is often touted as a solution to improve access and affordability. Gov motivated by ⬆️ tax revenue on each sale. Yet, this tax adds a substantial barrier. Viscous cycle ensues. 🔄

Government provides First Time Home Buyers (FTHB) programs to lessen this burden. "Lucky" COVID era buyers now seeking more space (families hoping to have children) are now ineligible for FTHB. Shift FTHB into a general tax 🔽 incentive with purchase cost ceiling to avoid wealthy misuse.
