this entire issue is downstream of the fact that kids are trapped in car-dependent suburbs, unable to develop any sense of autonomy until age 16, when they're suddenly allowed to drive a 4,000 lb vehicle
The moral panic about e-bikes... "In New Jersey, the state legislature passed a law requiring registration, a license and, in some cases, insurance for anyone to ride an ebike...In this regulatory wild west, legal ebikes are caught in the crossfire." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

We should be recruiting doctors from all over the world, but I am happy to see our island get serious about a decades-long deficit of medical professionals. Awesome news.
Vancouver Island is seeing an influx of U.S.-trained health-care workers as B.C. ramps up efforts to recruit south of the border, with nearly 100 professionals now set to work in the Island Health region.

the big tweak that's worked well so far is starting with the low hanging fruit: recycling and garbage in the room goes first, everything else is a bonus! your lizard brain is like "yes progress nice" and we almost always end up doing a couple more things.
started doing this new house cleaning system: - 25 minutes per day (+25min if you feel like it) - every day is a new room (ie. monday = bathroom, friday = dining room, etc) - each room has a checklist (ie. put away xyz items, dust, vacuum, water these 4 plants) so far so good!
