Irritable Brit living in Appalachia. Tell me a good joke. No, a GOOD joke. The last election has been rough on my spirit. PS Not interested in your OnlyFans or BitCoin Opportunity. Sorry. You’re humping a dead dog.

These are calls for mass political violence, against all Democrats. They openly call for the bombing of "Democrat" cities and for the jailing or killing of Democratic politicians. They are from some of the most influential voices in right-wing politics. Will anyone say anything?

Each White House has its traditions. For JFK, it was Camelot-themed cultural gatherings. For Trump, it's holiday-themed rants against Democrats, judges, and political undesirables. Each is part of the festive cornucopia that make the American presidency so delightfully idiosyncratic.

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell. This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

“Silly and immature.” Yep. Describes Vance, Trump, and Musk to a t. But I’d add “venal.”

Lord Sumption, "US Vice President JD Vance's speech was silly and immature" "Democracy and free speech are under challenge in a much bigger way in the United States, and his boss, Donald Trump, is the man who is mainly responsible for that"

I maxed out my credit card, emptied my savings account, and took out a loan to move from Alabama to Bethesda, MD. I don’t even qualify for unemployment since I’ve only worked at NIH for a month. I will be financially and medically devastated. Seeking suggestions for anywhere that’s hiring!!

Katie Sandlin@kmsandlin.bsky.social

Today, along with 2,000 other NIH employees, I had to clear out my office 😭 It was truly the honor of my life to work with such incredibly passionate people focused on improving human health. I’ve never experienced a more positive culture where *everyone* cared about their job and serving others.

Surprise surprise, NC cut taxes on everything except auto tax (because poor people have cars I guess) and is no longer funding books for kids. I’ve taught literacy, and one thing I know is that books in the home are important. If you have a few extra bucks, please give @wataugaonline.bsky.social

The most surreal and maddening feature of the campaign was that everyone agreed that high prices were the main issue but the guy explicitly, consistently running on a platform of raising everyone’s prices won voters most concerned about high prices. We hammered this time and time again and yet.

A gay guy, a Black man, and a woman walk into a flight deck— that’s not the beginning of a joke, but just a regular day at work! There was so much DEI on this plane that we could hardly get in the air. Luckily my limp wrists were able to wrestle the heavy jet back to the ground 💅🏼

So they installed their own server, exposed every civil service worker to spam (including Musk’s spam) and now have denied access to people who actually need access. And Republicans haven’t objected. Utterly spineless. Every check and balance in the Constitution is being gutted.

reuters.comExclusive: Musk aides lock government workers out of computer systems at US agency, sources sayAides to Elon Musk charged with running the U.S. government human resources agency have locked career civil servants out of computer systems that contain the personal data of millions of federal employees, according to two agency officials.

This is why we lost the election—we can’t even get the story straight. Whitaker announced his resignation back in DECEMBER. This is so fucking disappointing. I had thought better of Rupar.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

all I know is that had President Biden forced out the FAA chief under pressure from his top adviser and his corrupt motives, and then the next week there was a plane crash that killed more than 60 people, Republicans would be howling that it was an impeachable offense.

When you don’t have the intelligence to understand that if you can’t say things publicly, maybe you shouldn’t say them.

Our founding fathers have rolled so far in their graves that they’ve churned the world.

Here Senator John Stevens calls it a “historic day” because taxpayer dollars will now flow to private Christian schools, with @GovBillLee’s voucher scam passing today.

Brilliant. And smart cartoons make people think, as Boss Tweed discovered; unfortunately, memes are geared towards making the dumb dumber and more malleable.
