1/ Tl;dr Trans Suicide Hotline: 877.565.8860 Things are real bad right now and the aren't getting better anytime soon, especially for trans folks. Suicide was already a leading cause of death for our trans friends and I can't imagine that number getting better without direct involvement.

Chris Murphy has heart and actually spends time with the people. I don’t know everything about him, but this is the kind of person I want from our next president, NOT Gavin “Gaza isn’t a genocide” Newsom.

I haven't been back from Texas for 24 hours, and there's 3 new reminders why we shouldn't fund DHS without reforms to force them to obey the law. 1. The arrest of little Liam Ramos 2. More brutal treatment of protesters in Minnesota 3. ICE claiming the power to enter our homes

If you’re a person that is criticizing the resistance you probs need your head checked.

Minneapolis is also doing one of the largest and most complicated decentralized resistance movements in our hemisphere in this century. A lot of the critics have no clue what'a going on. No serious person would disrespect this mass mobilization.

Very pleased to learn that "After 1177 BC: The Survival of Civilizations" has been chosen to receive a Biblical Archaeology Society 2025 Publication Award for "Best Popular Book on Archaeology" (for books published during 2023 and 2024).

Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House. Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity. They are not the same.

Movie 20 - Your Host: Low budget movie with the acting you'd expect by the bulk of the cast, but a pretty fun turn by Jackie Earle Haley. However, the overarching theme of the movie, that women lie about sexual assault to get money, is the real horror. 0/10 - Eat Shit

Movie 19 - A Nightmare on Elm Street: So many old slasher movies struggle to hold up to the test of time, but Wes Craven crafted a timeless classic with Freddy Krueger that is still as terrifying as it was... 41 years ago. Holy shit I am so fucking old. 7/10!

Movie 18 - Perfect Neighbor: Not a movie, but this documentary is horrifying. A neighborhood Karen constantly yells at local kids and calls the police if she can hear them in her house, until one day a tragedy happens. Told entirely through actual police body cams. 7/10

Movie 17 - The Ugly Stepsister: Holy fucking shit. I thought The Substance was THE body horror achievement but I was so wrong. The Ugly Stepsister is an incredibly hard to watch and super effective retelling of Cinderella from the perspective of the eldest stepsister and this one gets wild. 10/10

One thing I appreciate about the No Kings protests is the myriad of locations. You might be hanging out with 100k or 10 but it’s local community and visible in so many communities. We partied with a couple thousand awesome people in Puyallup, WA today!

In the past I’ve felt that protests should be more organic and that planning things like this made it less authentic. Then I realized how dumb that is and that just because I (probably) won’t be facing off with riot cops it doesn’t make it less important. Anyways, his and hers:
