The Caledonian forest once covered the top two thirds of Scotland. Now around 1% remains. The heather covered mountains and vast moorlands Scotland is famous for is not what our ancestors knew.

My best friend Brian has been gone for 3 months now and I'm still missing him terribly. The house feels so empty without him. Hopefully this feeling will pass eventually.

Sunday afternoon on Rhodes, a Greek island. Fairy quiet, feels warm, around 32c. Light breeze.

Me at work right now. I sit under an umbrella because it's too hot to sit in the sun. It's the quiet period where we are waiting for cars to return later in the day.

Dun Dornagail iron age broch in the northern Highlands of Scotland, where I am originally from. It's a double walled semi conical structure, they lived in the middle during day and slept between the walls. It was once around 10m high (30ft) with only one door which was sealed with a huge boulder.

Looks like Trump is trying to guarantee himself a win in the mid-term elections in the USA. I don't know why this is tolerated: www.bbc.com/news/article...

It's been 10 weeks since I lost my best friend Brian. I'm still feeling heartbroken. Here is one of his more electrifying moments.

One of my favourite views here on the Greek island of Rhodes. It's the gulf of Trianda. During the Ottoman invasion of this island around 500 years ago there were 300 ships in this bay.
