🧵 I think people are looking too narrowly at the war with Iran. Is it Trump's bumbling around, or is there a plan? With the disruption of oil and natural gas, Russia and the US have increased leverage over the EU, and, by extension, Ukraine. It also creates a crisis here at home. gas prices.

We know why his family wrapped the couch in plastic.

JD Vance....What a guy. Grew up getting food stamps but doesn't want Americans to get food stamps today. Vance's father left and his mother became a drug addict.

Everytime we bring up pedophiles, conservatives leap to the defense of their favorite Republicans. Seems suspicious if you ask me.

GodlessPrimate@godlessprimate.bsky.social

The RNC will tell the truth from time to time, only unintentionally. 😂

I'm pretty sure "extremely wealthy autocrat with warehouses and factories filled with workers living in poverty, using his money to buy politicians and build AI" could definitely be a comic book villain origin story.

Xela Hart@xelahart.bsky.social

These people have been protecting pedophiles for years. Now he finally wants to take a stand?

What I'm getting from all this is that the federal government is incentivizing attacking federal buildings and law enforcement. Which seems like a really weird thing for the DOJ to do.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

There is not a single insurrectionists MFer who beat a cop that should get a penny of our money. Not one. And the people making this decision will all be appointed by Blanche and will meet in secret. This is an impeachable offense by Blanche.

I'd like to remind everyone, Trump still has a 70+ approval rating among Republicans polled. If you're asking, "Why doesn't Congress impeach him?" That's why. The average GOP voter does not give a fuck, that's why Thomas Massie lost his primary, and why GOP members of Congress won't do anything.

I propose a reality show where we lock all of the billionaires inside of a data center and let them figure out how to survive off AI data chips.

Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Boulder City, NV at 5 pm the planning commission in item 3 Matters will hold a public hearing to provide a recommendation on the addition of approximately 88.5 acres located west of U.S. Highway for data center uses. Come voice YOUR PUBLIC COMMENT!

Hopefully, some legal expert sees this. Is Trump's $1.776 billion fund even legal? Can the DOJ really just take taxpayer funds and hand them out to whoever they deem worthy without Congress appropriating the funds? #law #lawsky

The Trump DOJ and the Trump IRS made a deal with Trump to put $1.8 billion of our tax dollars into a fund run by Trump to pay off Trump supporters.

Jeff Tiedrich@jefftiedrich.bsky.social

here's today's post: "the January 6 rioters are about to get millions, and We the People can go fuck ourselves" — why do we even have laws, if some shithead gets to ignore them? thanks for reading, and please sign up for my daily newsletter so you never miss a post —

Can someone explain why we just received an invoice from FedEx for a package delivered in September, charging import duties on tariffs that have been ruled illegal? And what are the ramifications of ignoring this $22 charge? #legal #tariffs

Wow, sounds like we need a national movement for a proper living wage for ALL workers, including those that depend on tips. *Checks comments* Nevermind, looks like we're going to bitch about the restaurant putting up this sign and repeat "if you can't pay a wage" platitudes. Whoo, good job guys!

Mrs. Betty Bowers@mrsbettybowers.bsky.social

DEAR RESTAURANTS: Your servers are not volunteers. If you can't afford to pay them more than 2.13% of what you charge, you can't afford to run a business. Thank you!

It seems the only time Trump pays his bills is when he can do it with our tax dollars.

Trump decided to paint the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool blue. He handed out a no-bid $6.9 million contract to a company that worked on his own pools, using an exemption meant only to prevent “serious injury” to the government. The corruption is off the charts. www.nytimes.com/2026/05/08/u...

Possible engine oil shortage. If you need an oil change, do it now, or stock up for your next one at least. Went to Walmart last week and they were out of the big jugs of 5W-30. Then my girlfriend (Autozone Manager) is told to stop selling bulk oil to shops due to low stock.

What's interesting is that it only requires a simple majority to declare a war. Something the GOP has, in theory. So either they don't know if they have the votes to do it, or they support what he's doing while being too cowardly to put their names on a war declaration.

Nicholas Grossman@nicholasgrossman.bsky.social

“You know we’re in a war,” President Trump said yesterday, as a White House letter to Congress asserted that the War Powers Act doesn’t apply because there’s no war. Utter contempt. Congress is cool with it. Because the GOP majority also has contempt for the law, Constitution, country, and people.

People keep bringing up the 25th Amendment. Unless he's about to nuke Europe, they aren't invoking the 25th until 2027 at the earliest. That way, Vance can rule for 2 years and still be eligible for 2 full terms.

The elites experienced an active shooter, and cried out for a $400 million ballroom funded by taxpayers. But when schoolchildren are killed, they call it "the price of freedom." Then they all get on Twitter to remind us to "condemn all political violence." They aren't afraid of us.

Why is it that when I'm looking at affordable "starter homes" on Redfin, the language is always "investment opportunity, reposition for resale, buy and hold." It's never, "if you want a fucking house to live in, this one doesn't suck."

Can anyone explain how Cole Allen was detained without injury after a shootout with the Secret Service, but Renee Good and Alex Pretti were executed in the street for simply protesting?

He also claims oil production was "shut down" under Biden. But oil production increased every year for a 4-year increase of nearly 18%.

SCALISE: We've delivered. Remember that 2 years ago, we were paying almost $6 a gallon. Right now it's in the $3s KERNEN: When were we paying $6? SCALISE: 2.5 years ago K: That's not right S: We are lowering inflation K: We're actually above where we were then. 2 years ago the average was $3.65

🧵 Time. Sometime around 2007/2008 I worked at a resort that hosted some GOP convention. And it was the type of thing where POTUS might show up. The event went for like a whole weekend if memory serves. Capitol Police and Secret Service showed up probably a week in advance. They setup road

Seat. And people had a habit sometimes of throwing trash behind the seats, or things falling and rolling back between the seat and the back of the cab. Back there, underneath some trash, was an old, spent shotgun shell. The dog had still managed to smell the gunpowder residue. In the main buildings

There were checkpoints at each door. Bag checks, pat downs, metal detectors, all of it. No one was bringing a weapon in there. And you're telling me that multiple people now just casually show up to Trump events with long guns? I hate to spread conspiracies but the math ain't mathing for me.

Checkpoints on every road into the resort. Every single car was checked, they checked underneath for bombs, they looked in the trunk, a dog sniffed around the vehicle. A coworker said they emptied his whole pickup truck because the dog picked up something. This was one of those models without a back

You know, we all know the name Lee Harvey Oswald. People are still making documentaries and conspiracies about the JFK assassination. People might even recognize the name John Hinckley Jr. But most of us can't name a single one of Trump's multiple attempted "assassins." Seems weird.

You know it's bad when a guy with zero military experience and ties to Epstein abandons you because your foreign policy is stupid as fuck.

US Navy chief out as Iran seizes 2 ships amid Hormuz blockade. The former Trump campaign donor’s departure comes as Iran tightens its grip over the Strait of Hormuz and as Trump says he will not call off his blockade of Iranian ports. www.usatoday.com/story/news/w...

Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke. A real estate guy, a nepo realtor, and a guy with no discernible skill set other than furniture fucking walk into a peace negotiation . . .

Someone needs to get that Hot Tub a therapist and test it for STDs. Because that had to be traumatic as fuck.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"You're spending taxpayer dollars to drink milk shirtless in a hot tub with Kid Rock. Somehow you think that's a better public health message than informing the public about the benefits of vaccines. Really? -- Rep. Linda Sanchez to RFK Jr

The world was already pissed off at us for creating this mess. But then Iran somehow got Trump to blockade the Strait for them lmao. Any global sentiment against Iran for blocking the Strait has now been transferred to the US.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

Maybe the irrational optimism still priced into various markets will end with this.

It's crazy how fast Republicans went from complaining about tan suits and not wearing a tie as "disrespectful to the office" to supporting things like, "I'll commit war crimes and genocide if you don't open the fucking Strait!"

An estimated 48,000-65,000 working age US citizens die from lack of Healthcare each year. That's more Americans than Iran ever killed. So why are we spending so much money fighting Iran instead of health insurance companies?
