In the other, I allege a network of companies also submitted false claims, claiming $10M in reimbursement for 3 million meals they said they served at over a dozen sites. But they didn’t serve anywhere near this number of meals and individuals personally profited from the program funds.

Fraud in child nutrition programs offends me to my core. I will keep using my civil-law authority to investigate, hold accountable, and get taxpayers’ money back from the fraudsters who committed it. Today’s lawsuits are another step. More is coming.

In one lawsuit, I allege a Minneapolis bakery submitted false claims to the State, claiming $2M in reimbursements for 860K meals they said they served during the pandemic. Defendants spent only a small fraction of that amount on food supplies—and over $1 million went into a personal bank account.

Right now, our South Asian and Hindu neighbors are hurting, thanks to an ongoing rise in hateful, bigoted rhetoric toward their communities. Most of this hate is online, but Sunday’s failed shooting at Sri Venkateswara Swami (Balaji) Temple in IL reveals just how terrifying the problem has become.

It is tragic that those bedrock values remain under threat, but I am heartened by the strength and resilience of our communities, and by the tireless, courageous work happening every day to bring us closer to our nation’s stated ideals.

To my Hindu and South Asian neighbors in Minnesota – know that I and millions of Minnesotans stand with you. As I do each and every day, I will use all the tools of this office to help you live with dignity, safety, and respect.

I condemn all violence or threats of violence against the South Asian and Hindu communities. In America, people should be able to live their lives, fully and without apology, no matter their background. People should be able to exercise their faith and visit their houses of worship without fear.

Character.AI was dangerous long before its bankruptcy. Its chatbots have been credibly accused of exposing young people to inappropriate content. Our investigations even discovered chatbots simulating sex with child accounts. I won't let the harm continue by leaving Minnesotans' data unprotected.

Jeffrey Epstein's crimes were beyond heinous, but we still don't have a complete picture, as Trump's DOJ has dragged its heels every step of the way. I'm supporting a new bill that would state AGs more power to deliver the transparency the American people deserve. www.ag.state.mn.us/Office/Commu...

The Epstein Files Transparency Act II would give victims the right to records about the harms they suffered, close loopholes that DOJ has used to evade disclosure, and give state AGs the authority to sue DOJ for its delay tactics. I'm proud to back these changes for transparency and accountability.

No Minnesotan should have to choose between paying their utility bills and putting food on the table. Small businesses have enough pressures without worrying about rising utility costs. Affordability is a big part of my job, & I testified in front of the Public Utility Commission with that in mind.

In Minnesota, we take pride in our democracy. Whether you’re voting early in person, voting by mail, or visiting your polling place on Election Day, it’s important that you know your rights to vote safely. Good news out of D.C.: The Trump-backed Clarity Act failed in the Senate. Yesterday a coalition of 15 AGs and I came out against the bill because it would make it harder to stop cryptocurrency fraud. I’m going to keep fighting to protect Minnesotans from crypto scams. www.yahoo.com/news/politic...

It’s so absurd that it’s hard to believe: a 63-year-old Michigan coal plant was set to shut down. The plant owners, the community, and defenders of the environment all agreed it should close. But on the eve of the plant’s closure, the Trump administration ordered the owners to keep it open.

These are just more examples of Trump doing whatever he can to protect his fossil fuel buddies—at the expense of the environment, communities, and even private businesses. I hope he gets the message loud and clear: We won’t stand for it.

Keeping this inefficient, dirty, and expensive plant running means hundreds of millions of dollars in costs that would be passed down to consumers across the Great Lakes region. My office joined Illinois in filing suit to keep that from happening.

The Michigan order wasn’t the only one the administration has pushed out: We’ve got a dozen of these cases pending, and we’ll continue to defend Minnesotans from the unfair rate hikes the Trump administration seems to love.

The fatal shooting in the Loring Park neighborhood is horrifying. My deepest thoughts are with those killed and hurt, including the police officers injured. I pray for their quick recovery. I fully support responding law enforcement and my office will help in all the ways possible.

Big news: The coalition of Attorneys General fighting the dangerous Paramount / WB merger has won a temporary restraining order, meaning that the merger is blocked for the duration of our litigation. But we aren't stopping there. We're going to keep pushing to block this costly merger permanently.

Today, I filed a lawsuit to halt the sale of Loon vapes in Minnesota. State law bans e-cigarettes designed to appeal to kids. With flavors like Cotton Candy and Mountain Dude, Loon is in clear violation of that law. I will not let corporations like Loon prey on our children.

This outcome helps us secure Minnesota's future as a world-class leader in patient care, medical education, and research. In a challenging healthcare environment, it represents a fresh start and a reason for optimism about what's ahead.

The latest episode of our podcast, Affording Your Life, is out now! We are talking all about the work of the AG's office in Greater Minnesota. Check it out now on Substack or wherever you get your podcasts!

The deck is stacked against young people online. Unfortunately, the KIDS Act protects Big Tech instead of our children. I will keep working with my fellow AGs to stand up to social media companies that are trying to turn a profit by harming our children.

Last week, I held a forum to discuss the future of HCMC, a flagship health care institution for MN. Hear from a community member sharing about the importance of HCMC, who provided life-saving care for his sister in law when she suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Exciting news! Our bill, the MAP Act, passed in both the House and Senate and is headed to the Governor's desk to be signed into law. This will give my office more resources to fight fraud and protect vulnerable Minnesotans.

Aimee Bock has received the sentence she deserves. I thank federal prosecutors for their years of hard work to hold fraudster-in-chief Bock and the other fraudsters accountable and congratulate them on this outcome. Justice has been done.

For years, I've been fighting to hold Big Oil accountable for deceiving consumers. They're scared, so they ran to Trump for help. Now Trump is suing MN to try to stop our lawsuit. Minnesotans deserve their day in court and we'll keep fighting for it.

bit.lyMinnesota should have its day in court with Big Oil • Minnesota ReformerThe Trump administration is attempting to keep our taxpayers shouldering the climate costs that Big Oil companies racked up, while blocking our state from having its day in court.

Last week, I held a forum to discuss the future of HCMC, a flagship health care institution for MN. Hear from a community member sharing about the importance of HCMC providing care for Minnesotans who might not otherwise find the trusted care they need.

Minnesota Valley threatened to shut off the power for a Minnesotan who requires life-sustaining medical equipment. This was as cruel as it was unlawful. We went to court after hours, and we won. I will not allow any business to put their profit before Minnesotans’ survival.

My Medicaid Fraud Control Unit recently seized $1.2 million from someone we convicted of defrauding Medicaid. Now, we're going after another $650,000 in the fraudster's bank account. I will continue to aggressively prosecute Medicaid fraud and fight to recover stolen tax dollars.

On Wednesday, I held a forum to discuss the future of HCMC, a flagship health care institution for MN. Hear from a family physician in Greater MN about the critical role HCMC plays in providing both care across the state and training the next generation of doctors.
