My first five TTRPGs in the order I played them: 1. AD&D 2nd Edition 2. Star Wars RPG Second Edition 3. Tribe 8 4. D&D 3rd Edition 5. Exalted (There's a one-shot of Paranoia in here and a French RPG about playing thieves which name I forgot)

Had an absolute blast playtesting this one. Could not recommend it enough.

A quick tag-on if you'd indulge me. I love when a book gives me interiority to work with. Even if the evil dwarves and the nightmare elves only want to kill the pcs knowing that one group is robotically work obsessed & the other is driven by hatred tells me how they go about doing that.

I feel much more equipped to inhabit characters if I know how they tick. I've been enjoying the pod greatly, even if Sam does drive me crazy. Keep up the good work!

There was a moment of silence at the table. They didn't need to understand. They wanted to preserve the beauty of the unknowable. My table often responds to The Sublime in that way. Maybe it comes down to the sort of fantasy you vibe with. I love an opaque world.

I've spoken to them. I found true delight in their alienness. In my inability to understand their perspective. This, to me, is as good as RPGs get. Similarly the things my players have responded the best to they haven't understood.

They heard a song listening at a door. When opened it they found a statue, face in raptorous joy, a gaping hole in it’s chest, a jubilant cry bouncing off the perfectly smooth spherical walls. When I said the sound was becoming quieter as it escaped through the door they slammed it shut.

For me, both as a player & as a gm, the Sublime is a goal to be strived for, not a frustration to be avoided. Three of my favourite player experiences ever come from interfacing with, to me, truly impossible to understand NPCs. A river spirit, an old dwarf, & an over promoted field bot.

I do not know what it is to be a river. Nor can I comprehend centuries of existence, to have seen your people made practically extinct by shadows. I have never spoken to an AI, it's systems straining to adapt to new situations. And yet I feel like these unknowable things have been in front of me.

@thebreadwyrm.bsky.social Just ran my first session of The White Horse of Lowvale. It was a spectacular success. The players bounced from one npc to the next slowly uncovering the mystery. Kolmar IV's attempts at deception, and Marewen's revelations were particularly enjoyed by the table.

I had a lot of fun listening to the outlandish theories my players cooked up, only for them to change them completely every time new information was revealed. They stayed up late to watch Kolmar III make a cold iron amulet and so saw the mist roll in.

They were too slow to react to stop the twins abduction, but did manage to save their parents. It was a real scrap, very nearly a TPK. Armed with their new knowledge of runes, The Old Woman in Red, and The White Beast, they'll set off into the woods next session. Pumped!

Having an absolute blast running Deluge at Drizzle Distillery @munkao.bsky.social! My players swapped out the fermentation spirit's normal water for drizzle water which I ruled juiced him up. They're carrying him around with him. Just awesome emergent gameplay

Thrilled to be playing ultimate again, despite the fact my new cleats have absolutely fucked my legs. Might need to change my bio though. The hammers are landing frequently now, even the hard ones.
