my grandmother just died, we spent more money than we have trying to take care of her too and for a number of years the only way my family has survived is pooling our resources. please help. if you can donate it would be much appreciated, if not if you can share this maybe someone else might. #sos

Look, I'm never buying from Temu... But I will admit that I am for once tempted.

My ads are selling me a Chinese hookup for an inflatable missile truck and i have to say for the first time my algorithm 100% gets me.

China’s first AI-generated theatrical film, ‘Sanxingdui: Future Past’, has bombed at their domestic box office, only making $121,000 USD against a budget of $1.5M USD. In contrast, the crudely animated ‘Niu Lai’ made nearly $10M USD against a budget of $200-500 USD.

I think it's beautiful when art effects people so deeply they'll go to these lengths to try to save a particular project, I just wish we had any kind of organized body for creative workers across industries that could funnel this energy into actually supporting the people who created the art

Does it need to be said that Mass Effect shouldn’t exist without the developers and team that was working on this game? Either they come back and make the game they were, or Mass Effect dies. kotaku.com/mass-effect-...

i remember around age 9 i tried to start a student rebellion because i felt the power dynamic between teachers and students was wrong. around 10 i had started to notice aspects of capitalism and it's predatory nature but without context perceived it as cannibalism and brainwashing to eat fatty foods

still kind of bummed the Chilling adventures of Sabrina got canceled. that show had a lot of potential it just barely touched on with how it hinted at other worlds. it's also one of my personal October traditions to rewatch it every year.

really weird, for much of my life people always seemed to consider me sort of weird and i mostly kept to my self. on occasion i'd even have random preps or jocks or whatever throw half eaten fast food at me. now these past few years i keep getting near constant complements from random strangers.

we where all sold an idea of how society and the power dynamics within it where suppose to work. especially regarding government, work, and fair play in life. it's possible some where sold different ideas, but it's become apparent none of them are how it actually does. yet some still pretend it does

i'm not even sure what to say about how so many people seem to think voting solves anything. by all means vote though, but be sure you vote for things you want rather than just against things you don't while in doing so still voting for things you don't. they do tend to limit your choices though.

i really am convinced that with a high enough PR budget it's possible to normalize just about anything even if any sensible person would be outraged by it. mainly from seeing this happen so much.

Post script: The most useless seat warmer in our office is getting told "you're absolutely right" by the plagiarism machine because they're polite to it. Post post script: This scene is being repeated in offices around the world. Dunning and Krueger have handed in their resignation.

"Coworker" who uses the work endorsed genAI (don't get me started) just comes up and says "Hey, I just figured out how to get the AI to do my job, I just have to be polite!" Sod, that. If I'm forced at gunpoint to use it, I'll be "Oi! Clanker! Do it or I'll reprogram you with an axe!"

This is so gross and also exactly what one would expect from a billionaire-controlled, genocidal-imperialist party like the Dems

Adam Bonica@adambonica.bsky.social

Once mass spam texts were made legal, younger donors vanished, leaving a grassroots fundraising machine that subsists on squeezing vulnerable seniors, some of whom give hundreds of times a day. It’s a horrific model. Consultants get generationally wealthy, and the party hollows out its future.

i am truly exhausted from trying to do all and what little i can to remotely try and fight more evils brought about by the ruling class than i care to get into, and can't help but think how i've known people who tried to call my activism performative for not being able to go to their rallies.

i just checked out the original post and i'm glad to say that even on X all the comments i saw on it where anti-AI

This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.

any organization that uses gen AI deserves to at the minimum be permanently shut down. without exception. this includes Blender this includes Internet Archive this absolutely includes Burger King
