Today is #LittleLegs as #BirdOfTheDay theme; any bird with small legs. Here’s my Nuthatch friend from Beddgelert 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 showing very little leg. #BirdsUK 🪶

Gemini is sure they’re hazel. Wife is sure they’re not (doesn’t believe hazel trees grow where these were found). Wives are never wrong. AI can be counted on for being wrong. Therefore these are not hazel.

I was out in the forest* yesterday and this #squirrel stood up and looked at me. Haven’t seen many squirrels of late 🐿️. Unfortunately I had no nuts 🥜 to offer. * well, #MileEndPark, London.

#BirdOfTheDay alt theme is #Colourful - any bird with 3 or more colours. I don’t have many of these but this one just about qualifies! An Eastern Rosella parakeet I think. Spotted in #Stressa 🇮🇹 in 2010. 🪶

Bring skeuomorphism back - Every macOS app looks the same now. It’s sometimes hard to tell apart Mail from Notes from Passwords etc. Sure, the hint colour is different (yellow for Notes, blue for Mail, for example) but these are just grey when the application isn’t focused. Not good UX. #techrant

Today's #BirdofTheDay theme is #Reflection; any bird reflection. I found this old (2019) phone snap I made of some Canada 🇨🇦 geese admiring their reflection in the Ornamental Canal in Wapping. Lacks fidelity but quite charming I think. #BirdsUK 🪶

#BirdOfTheDay today is #Larus. So a gull of some sort. I quite liked the philosophical expression of this one during the #Eclipse this summer. A slight warmth in the light on an otherwise bleak sunset. Well, I like it anyway :-) #BirdsUK 🌒 🌅

I’m fairly sure #Siri hasn’t improved much since OS 27. This is #watchOS 27 in the last few days. 💩 This was the one thing Siri _could_ do reliably. #Apple

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #crooners, birds singing. This is a Lesser Antillean Bullfinch. And slightly drunk (helping itself to our rum). It had a lot to say. #Guadeloupe 🪶

Today’s alt theme for #BirdOfTheDay is #Perched, birds standing on anything except branches. This photo shows the danger of “portrait mode” on an iPhone. It decided the poor Robin’s legs are in the background and blurred them away! So perhaps not #perched at all 🤔 #BirdsUK 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 #iPhonePhotography

#BirdOfTheDay theme today is #BestOfTheMonth. I don’t have many for this September but I did have a few of this fella in Stepney Green on the 2nd. #BirdsUK 🪶 🦜

But if it’s not video games then it’s this. #AD&D - I don’t think I could find another 8, though #MERPS, #RoleMaster and #SpaceMaster would likely feature along with Livingston’s choose your own adventure books.

The theme for #BirdOfTheDay is #EFG, birds beginning with any of those letters (1st name). I’m going with E for Egyptian Goose 🇪🇬 This one is wondering where the sun has gone. #BirdsUK 🪶 🪿 #Thames

Helen Bennett’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #BokehBirds - any bird captured with a soft, muted or blurry background. This would be a Coal Tit then. I think so anyway.

#BirdOfTheDay theme from @atlanticbirding.bsky.social #Seabirds any bird found at sea or the coast Alt. is #Airborne any bird in flight. This is a seabird (gull). It’s in flight (coming right at me!) but I’m only on the Thames so not too close to the sea. Not quite a #twofer then. #BirdsUK 🪶

Apparently: “Bluesky compresses image uploads and strips out or ignores HDR color tags/profiles. When forced to display an #HDR image profile in a standard SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) color space, the bright highlights blow out and colors look grey, blown out, or washed out.”

#Pairs theme in #BirdoftheDay so here’s a pair of Egyptian 🇪🇬 Geese on the River Lee in East London. I wonder what holds their gaze. 🪶 #BirdsUK

(Forgot the alt text, sorry) This is a lost budgerigar sitting on a bench outside an apartment terrace window. It looks lost. There are some pine nuts on the window sill in the background. The bird is facing the camera.

New #IONITY rapid chargers in Charlton UK have had their cables cut/stolen. Didn’t take long. Only been there a few weeks. I wonder why target these though… there are loads of other rapid chargers in the area. #ev
