I have so many Claude Code sessions going that when I close one I have no idea what it was about, so I made a small mod. On exit it prints the session title and the last recap right above the `claude --resume` line.

.@AmpCode is almost perfect. I wish it would tailor the workflow toward PRs rather than shipping to prod. But otherwise, very very good!

It's small but incredibly annoying when @GitHub's tabs keep changing names and they dissapear from under my cursor 😠

.@dhh wrote 150,000 lines of code last month, mostly Rust. Number of Ruby Passport stamps that earned him: zero. The embassy stays open all day if he wants to come and explain himself.

NOTICE FROM THE RUBY EMBASSY πŸ›‚ Following yesterday's keynote, the holder of passport #0001 (@dhh) is under review for unauthorized travel to Rust. The Sheriff's office is looking into it. 🀠

200-ish Passports left for @euruko 🚚 We also sent some typical Romanian rum chocolates for the Embassy table. Make sure you grab one while you get your Passport stamped.

I won’t be there this year but I sent the Passports and something sweet for everyone 🫢

450-ish passports left for #RailsWorld ✈️ This is the first year @TheRubyPassport.com travels with Rails World in the US, so we prepared a small surprise. We sent some traditional Romanian rum chocolates for the Embassy table. Grab one while you get your Passport stamped.

One thing is for sure: In the winter, our heating bill should be a bit lower, because we now have these powerful computers running coding agents all the time.

It's still not easy to get used to 200-line PRs for things that are functionally 3 lines. LLMs add inline comments, tests, and sometimes docs supporting the change. I know I can steer them. I know it's for our own good. It's just a change. How do you cope with that?

Today I wanted to use Codex agent from Linear. I can’t. I assign it an issue, and it tells me I need to set up an environment. So I go looking for howβ€”and why that isn’t automatically set up for me. I end up having to Google it or ask a different app, because it won’t tell me.

Then I need to manually set up environment variables and scriptsβ€”plus decide whether it should have access to the internet, whether it should have caching, and all of that. So archaic! Cursor just works πŸ™Œ

One thing we had to acclimate ourselves to at @avohq.io with the new LLM-powered engineering methods was that our PRs would be much thicker, with more lines of code. LLMs (or at least our setup) document things inline much more than we did. Also, the tests are much more detailed.

This is a shift in how we think about PRs too. Before, a 1,000-line PR would have been considered a big one and would be requested to break it into smaller ones.

Now that's a "normal" PR and we "push through." We started adding CI jobs to highlight how many lines of code are tests and comments, hoping that we can ease the review process.

Non-technical founder with a SaaS idea? You don't need a dev team. At MicroConf US 2025, Avo founder @adrianthedev.com made the opposite case: one developer is enough (if you pick the right one). YouTube link in 🧡:

Using the vibe-coding-way of doing things on pre-LLM projects is really difficult. Not in the sense of using LLMs in coding, but in the sense of "code doesn't matter anymore" and "if it works and the tests pass, then it's all good". I can't do that on those projects.

We're all such AI-pilled that we think that this is not important, while it's more important than ever. The person who watches these and implements them (using an LLM or not) in their apps, will get ahead the most in this "rinse and repeat" we all use the same LLM world.

Avo 4 is here πŸŽ‰ 15 months, ~2000 commits, and about 50 teams kicking the tires. It's a full redesign, not a fresh coat of paint. A safer way build your internal tools 🧡

New pricing too. We unbundled. Every feature is an addon, pick exactly what you need. Then we bundled the common ones at a discount. Start small with Essentials or grab the Everything bundle.

This is the best time there's ever been to build software. The boring parts get cheaper every month. Avo is where you spend less of your time on the part of your app that was never going to win your market anyway. Try Avo 4 today πŸ‘‰ avohq.io/blog/avo-4

Keyboard navigation everywhere ⌨️ Browse records with J/K, focus the table with Shift+T, jump around with shortcuts for search, views, actions, sidebar. Hit Shift+? to see them all. It's almost VIM mode for your admin.

New addons, each one less thing you build and babysit: β†’ Kanban boards β†’ Forms β†’ Reactive fields β†’ Notifications β†’ Collaboration β†’ HTTP Resource (back a resource with any JSON API 🀯) β†’ JSON API (auto-generated REST for your resources)

The new UI is themable and accessible. Light and Dark Mode, neutral + accent color controls, full themes coming soon. Runs on Tailwind 4 with CSS variables, so you (or your LLM) can shape it however you want.

One of the things I regret about not having another @friendlyrb is that I don’t have a stage to bring new speakers on. There are so many talented folks around. Conference organizers: bring new speakers on stage!

Five files touched to get a fully functional JSON API running from your @avo_hq resources. Not too shabby. You can plug your LLM into your data effortlessly.

All of the things that people say about AI are mostly true. That's the problem and the most polarizing thing. It's not completely true, but mostly true.

Next level πŸ’© Selling prompts for you to build your own version of something. They vibecoded it, probably ran a hundred other prompts to make sure it works nicely and cover edge-cases, then sell someone the prompt, so they get to finish and maintain that piece of software πŸ«
