HR: β€œYour position has been eliminated. Today is your last day.” Me: "Wait, is this a fake conversation created purely for engagement?" HR: "Yes. You get two weeks of severance and 3 Likes." Me: "Sweet."

Just occurred to me that in the 80's/90's, Super Models were talked about daily on news, movies, tv shows, covers of every magazine. I can't name a single model today, which is okay by me, but what a weird cultural thing we had for a bit there.

"You didn't put my stroke on social media did you?" ... Uh...kind of? "*sigh* which one?" Bluesky? "Oh, that's okay, I don't know anyone on that." Whew, thanks nerds..I mean, super cool people...keep whatever you're doing up.

At a certain point, just release a fun sequel. We could have had Beyond Good & Evil 14 by now. No game will be perfect. Except for Beyond Good & Evil 1.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 is 'still in pre-production' after 18 years as its vision keeps changing, a new report claims. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/beyond-...

A lot of CVSS security exploits were announced today. Are they normally released in dumps like that? I always thought they each were released asap after a fix or proof is available?

I didn't realize how bad games were around resolutions until I got an ultrawide monitor that I don't want full screen on. Indie games have been knocking dynamic resolution adjustment out of the park for a few years now. In general, AAA is a horrible experience along those lines lately.

Do the new FF Tactics people know all the old strats? Surrounding an enemy and punching them a bunch of times, as a form of torture and sweet sweet levels? How the Mathematician is the best class design ever? How Red Chocobos are the most evil mob ever? The game is so good!

surround a single enemy remove your weapons on 4 people surround enemy and punch, surround that group with 2 or 3 square attack range people and hit through your people, healers keep enemy alive and it's just a completely unfair way of leveling, but a ton of fun when done against red chocos who suck

If you uh, study biology, you can piece together that the chemical imbalances in a lot of common neurodivergence issues, are the same chemicals your digestive system relies on, and..well, restless leg syndrome I don't have a lab to write papers on this, but there are a lot of connections that exist

i think about this tweet so often

I do have a degree in biology and worked in internationally renowned labs, but we didn't study -this- so I am not saying there IS a big connection, just that it's oddly connected on the biology side from small levels of research.

Friend's wife thinks she might have ADHD (I think she does): /me: here is a 5mg pill, if the circus music dims...most likely /me: here is also a 10mg xr pill, take next day if 5mg pill works...if the clown music goes away and her thoughts are in order, then yes ...ignore the benzo pill bottle...

There...just saved a thousand-dollar multi-week consultation of doing third grade level paperwork to see if you have ADHD. If not, you're slightly more energetic for a day, and you have other issues.

These AI suggestions while writing an email really want you to sound as pretentious as possible. I can do that myself and actively fight putting in wordy business speak in my emails, thank you very much bad AI.

Just watched Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, forgot how funny Jane Austen was. Fun movie too, surprisingly well made. Delivery of these lines so dead pan in The Olde English is a treat.

this is a funny thing to post when the average enterprise dev (through no fault of their own, they have to adhere to a PMs processes) writes the worst code possible if it compiles and runs i'm sure enterprise devs are just as skilled as normal devs (no i don't) but lmao it's fucking insane to say...

Games can be some of the most advanced simulations across the world. A couple milliseconds of delay across any system can make an entire game fall apart. Physics, sounds, inputs, gameplay, network, security...just such a weird take in my opinion.

The smell of Winter was out tonight. It's moist, crystal clear, and cleansed by the day's rain. The plants are done for a few months. A new Pacific Northwest Winter has a unique smell for a bit, it's lovely.

I also think that many game devs aren't so great at not defending to the death anything they like...every hill is to the death. We can have some good conversations and also acknowledge where things could be better as a whole. How can our industry get better otherwise?

I recently learned that Japanese salmon sushi/sashimi was introduced by a Norwegian to Japan in mine own lifetime... I...I need to go lay down. I'll be all right, I'm okay, but..yea, need to lay down. Thank you for the concern.

Kind of crazy that children of the 80's were directly targeted by industries for "collectible" items. Comic books, baseball cards, figurines, etc. We were even told not to open them in many cases through the years. Craziest thing is that comic books were actually an amazing investment, 100%+ profit

You'd buy some comic for a $1 or two, and now, they're worth $2-4 bucks or $0.25 to $0.50. Have to work in bulk, but I can't think of anything that actually has such a consistent value increase. Certainly not blaseball cards.

*discussion with partner in crime* /me: yeaaa, I need new shoes, these squeaky squeak too much... /her: *stares* /me: What? ...oooohhhh, yea, I'm ADHD, I have 15 pairs of shoes in the closet I've never worn!!! /her: Yea! You do! I've mentioned them to you hundreds of times over the last decade!
