Drove past a movie theater and saw “the social reckoning” is out and apparently has been out for weeks haaa. Cool reckoning. That Nazis little nerd fuck just tried to fix the Brazilian election. Great reckoning

Real art isn't meant to coddle you. It's also not meant to challenge your preconceptions or evoke an emotional response. It's meant to be annoying

The movie Hellraiser (1987) feels real because all the characters look and act like they're from a How To Speak English textbook, including what a sexy esoteric rapist would talk like if he was in a textbook, "come to daddy" etc; this is why it is good

Ask yourself where it takes place, England? Everyone in it is American, except for some of the saps lured back to the house. They imply they are in the UK, it looks like the UK 99% of the people have a US accent Because it takes place in the nebulous reality of the English language, in a textbook

Abbot: I hate gay Halloween they have these peculiar costumes Costello (or maybe abbot I don’t remember): such as what ? Abbot: there’s a dame who dresses like fujoshi infographic with the tank top Costello: it’s the 1930s or 40s idk what those words mean

It was weird ten years ago on Twitter when I came to understand ppl were watching streamers bc I’d see a tweet like “OMG?! Yoinky just hit the doinky?!” With the preview image of a video of a sad little person sitting in front of the computer but finding out ppl been watching that Ethan guy is sad

Like I understand celeb culture on some level if attractive people are involved, I’d imagine they have to be entertaining or talented, but it feels like caged animals having a live feed of some arbitrary other caged animal

Google was really trying to hide its water use figures, to the degree that it got the council to try to keep its water use figures secret. The community finally got the actual numbers and found out Google was using 29 percent of the water in the community. www.wired.com/story/what-t...

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

if my dad got disturbingly obsessed with spirals I’d probably do what I do for all his weird hobbies: buy him a cheap shirt off amazon that says like “Yeah, I’m A Spiral Dad”

i think there's a general broad sense that if Democrats do what they did under Clinton, or under Biden, or do what UK Labour is doing and continue a rightward shift under the guise of "moderation" then we're pretty well fucked for good. so any Dem politician is going to have to contend with that.

I gave them several opportunities to address how the drawing I did for the cover managed to expand past new margins, and they never acknowledged what they did. Easily the worst experience I’ve ever had in my twelve years in comics

Now that this is out in the open, I can say that a certain book I did for a certain publisher affiliated with one of these people had generative expand used on my cover art without my permission, and it wasn’t removed before publication

It’s so cool every Gen X and boomer artist with money and prestige, and with it the things current artists dream of, ie resources and time with which to make art, are so AI art curious. They can all eat shit haaa

Manager argued with me that they couldn’t sell me the Oliver Read head shaped popcorn bucket bc it was the display copy and I was arguing if they were sold out then what did they need to display ?

correct. it's wild to remember that so much of this could have been stopped cold by 5 or 6 people deciding they cared about our society. and their whole thing could be stripped down to the studs by dealing with maybe 70 guys

i can see an argument that at some point mass prosecutions of these guys might actually engender a backlash effect. i think you can just start with a peace deal with iran that involves turning over hegseth to them to answer for the children he killed and then going from there. it will have an effect

It’s shot like a tinto brass movie and the opening shot is just a slow pan onto a woman’s butt while the credits play and you hear YODA off screen doing erotic gurgles in his YODA voice and grammatical structure

It is, fundamentally, an exercise of choosing the lesser evil, over and over and over again, so that the total amount of evil in the system decreases over time. And you must keep doing it, because - since evil is easy - good is easily reversed.

You go to gamelan performance these days it’s all just old people who got the gamelan fever from playing old Super Nintendo game soundtracks. These days the youth do not know gamelan, they release videogames with no gamelan in the soundtrack,
