The synopsis doesn't giveaway much but like this is an EXCELLENT slasher story. A cast this big isn't common for slashers and it's done well here! If you've worked corporate you know these characters, how they fall apart under pressure and revert to petty politics and betrayal. Highly recommended!

An oldie but a goodie, Franken Fran is my favourite horror gag manga. It's silly, raunchy, and the cast of characters are all nightmarish. The recurring message here is be careful what you wish for as Fran has no common sense at all and each time she helps the monkey's paw curls

It's a lawless place where survivors can choose to live how they want. There's only one rule: You mustn't escape the island

I wasn't sure whether to include this as it leans more into horrific than horror, but I think it counts. Looking back at when I was at my lowest and thinking how scary things were, there is a genuine horror experience here when despair and the ember of hope to live fight against eachother.

A very violent work for Tatsubon, but it has the same sapphic charm as a lot of their stuff. I don't like saying couple goals for many things, but these two are just so fun together that it's hard not to. Komari and Liberta influence eachother so nicely. Not at all scary, but it's LOTS of fun!

Today's Halloween Manga 🎃is Bibliomania by Orval and Macchiro Alice wakes up in room 431 of a cursed castle and meets a snake who tells her that all her wishes will come true if she stays and doesn't attempt to leave. Alice makes her way through the castle, meeting all it's unique denizens.

A post apocalyptic take on Alice in wonderland and features a fantastic artwork, and covers themes of escapism and denial and the harm they do to you both physically and mentally. It's fairly short to get through and the payoff is incredible. I was blown away by the ending and hope you are too!

Today's Halloween Manga 🎃 is Homunculus by Hideo Yamamoto Susumu Nakoshi, a homeless and destitute man, is paid 700,000yen to undertake trepination surgery. Nothing ill comes of it until he briefly covers his right eye and starts to see homunculi, which are the manifestation of people's trauma

This one is REALLY cool, full of gore, and incredibly graphic, but that's to be expected by Yamamoto who also did Ichi the killer. This one covers loss of self and identity which is surprisingly not common with gore filled stories, but I think it's done well. Surprisingly deep characters!

Today's Halloween Manga 🎃is Ajin: Demi-Human by Gamon Sakurai Kei Nagai fails to die when he's run over by truck-kun and discovers he's an immortal Ajin. If he's caught he'll be tortured for eternity or forced to act against humanity for a sadistic terrorist.

Another one for the body horror list but also covering the cost of immortality, the loss of humanity, and becoming marginalised in an instant, with nearly everyone turning on Kei immediately. Sato is a fantastically done villain, and the final few chapters might be the most tacticool ever on paper
