Just realized I'm hitting one year of taking semaglutide, AMA. [This offer remains open indefinitely. I'm a low-traffic account, so I'll notice if you ask me even months from now.]

Do yourself a favor and block/mute both of these accounts. All they do is post made-up stuff and AI images pretending they're real. Seriously, remove the stupid lies from your life because too many people here can't tell the difference anymore.

My latest unhinged pet peeve is the video format where it's a dude pretending to be talking to someone else on a podcast, just rambling his opinion to himself on camera.

Are we really doing this? This is most fucking pathetic "strategy" this election. Absurd, stupid, childish nonsense.

JD Vance: "I love you too sir. In a totally platonic way, to be clear. I'm the vice president, not James Talarico."

Just stop watching SNL. They keep platforming this guy. They knew what he would say and they made the choice to proceed. Stop watching until there is a meaningful change in leadership and the show isn't reduced to chuckles at the expense of others. Comedy is about shared laughter, not this s**t.

Yes, I am a bleeding heart liberal. Susan Dell's completely ruined face makes me sad for her. It doesn't negate any of the horror she and her ilk have done, but jfc I cannot imagine doing that to myself and being unable to reverse it.

Are we really, *really* sure Republicans are best with the economy? And before y'all come after me that the Pillsbury brand costs $6, read the ingredient labels side-by-side to see if you can solve the mystery of which one is actual food versus whatever TF that Doughboy is serving.

Over the weekend, I spent a fair amount of time explaining to my brother-in-law why Jill Stein is a deeply unserious person. She is nothing more than a contrarian political cicada, waking only in election season in the hopes of destroying everyone else around her. And now:

If NFL owners want to censor who performs in stadiums, they shouldn't ask taxpayers to help build them. You can't take public subsidies for stadiums then use them as your personal editorial board. Pay for it all out of your own pocket and hold as many Kid Rock concerts as you want to.

Not to flex, but I've always known Ed Sheeran was a s**t-weasel. Y'all act like you don't remember him unabashedly accepting the Grammy for "Shape of You" (ode to objectifying a woman's body) over Kesha's "Praying" (masterpiece in courageously using your music for something important).

Reading the praise of Mahomes recovering from torn knee ligaments, but feel like this quote perhaps adds important context. To compare, Mahomes got the MRI within an hour, surgery the very next day. Our healthcare is capable of being great. We just...don't.

Yes, I am literally crying. Dolly Parton was the brightest light in so much of the darkness we've had to traverse. Rest however you want to, Dolly. Your torch will always burn and there are millions of us who are honored to carry it.

Oh no. Careful out there, everyone.

And you definitely don't want to use a high-powered 532nm green laser, because it can permanently burn and disable digital camera CMOS or CCD sensors. Green light is absorbed at a very high efficiency by these electronic sensors, meaning concentrated beams easily melt or overload the pixel array.

🚨 BREAKTHROUGH: Mexican researcher Eva Ramón Gallegos achieved a milestone that puts Latin American science at the center of the world medical debate: she managed to completely eliminate the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) in controlled clinical studies.

Oh no, the ICE torture gloves might zap the wearer if they, say, got accidentally hosed down with water. Would really be a shame if word got out about that.

Man stopped at ATL airport. Known protestor against Cop City. Questioned extensively/exhaustively. Repeatedly denied an attorney. Pressured into giving up his phone passcode under threat of having his phone taken from him. No warrant. The code he gave wiped the phone. I'm on his side.

RUN, B*TCH (complimentary)

Guardian US@us.theguardian.com

"There are other capable progressives weighing a run in 2028," writes @sunraysunray.bsky.social. "However, none of them can do the two things AOC can do at once: run a serious national campaign as one of the most recognized figures in the country, and pull an entire movement into being behind it."

I would ruin many lives. (My brother is a case manager for people with mental illness transitioning from state care.)

Thought experiment- if you were suddenly appointed to do your sibling’s job, how badly would you suck at it?

From the people who so often sneer "If you don't like it, leave!" when a Dem criticizes US government, I present you: "We don't like Oregon, so we want to change the composition of two states to appease us." IF YOU WANT TO LIVE IN IDAHO, MOVE TO IDAHO.

I have said endlessly that When It Happens, things might get even worse for us if this administration isn't already out of office. Vance is dangerous.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"Vance got to the point. They needed to invoke the Insurrection Act, swiftly, to crush the unrest in Minnesota. It would be painful in the short term, he said, but the message it would send — that paid agitators can't get away with disrupting ICE operations — would make sure no one tried it again."

Tbh, I think it'll be Knicks in 6 because it rhymes and that game will be at Madison Square Garden. Knicks fans aren't allowed into game 5 in San Antonio. The Knicks will want to share the W with their fans.

And all they had was their "name" on the back of their jersey, and we're just supposed to believe that they were even allowed to play at all??? ANYONE off the street could have pretended to be a player!!!

Matt Oswalt@mattoswaltva.bsky.social

NBA is rigged! when Spurs had 29 point lead the game should have been immediately stopped and Spurs declared winner. Instead officials decides to play "4th quarter?" and Knicks "somehow" score enough baskets to win. Fraud!

It is a stain on FIFA that the US is allowed to host the World Cup. A staggering slap in the face to the sporting community and the world as a whole.

Can we please go back to having Presidents who take their job seriously? It is truly unbelievable to me that we allow a perpetually trolling "own the libs" narcissistic as the President of the United States.

The number of people who don't understand this is wild to me. "What does him being a POS person have to do with whether he'd be good to represent me in government?" I dunno....maybe everything???

Mary Gillis@marygillis.bsky.social

The people who think a politician betraying his spouse should have no bearing on his political candidacy are kind of fascinating. "Yeah, he broke a promise to the most important person in his life and caused her untold pain, but surely he'd never betray ME, a stranger who's voting for him."
