Anyway, me and P and @rubbishgroupie.bsky.social have caught up on the previous 3 episodes in the past 24 hours and we are very, very Bake Off immersed at this time.
LOVE this - and so many more on the page, go, look! Oh, it's just so great when you see art that you love out of the blue like this <3

I read the first one when my job was primarily #bookstagram and never for a moment imagined it becoming the thing it has. I keep meaning to go through it again...
Surprisingly little "New ACOTAR book" posts on here. Clearly my Bluesky feed has the perfect storm of people who would never read Romantasy, Romantasy readers who would never read Maas, and people who won't admit it in public

"DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them." seems like the best advice I've seen on here for forever.
I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

Got my flu jab this morning and the fabulous angel in Boots who had me, the worst injectionphobe you know, inoculated smoothly and without trauma in moments, told me almost half her colleagues refuse the *free* jab. And they work in the main place poorly people go to to buy medicine! Wild, just wild

The next phase of AI training data. Hundreds of thousands of workers in South Asia and Latin America are being paid to wear cameras on their head to record as they engage in their work - from cutting hair to textiles and through to domestic chores www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

SPITE IS AN FREE AND RENEWEABLE ART MATERIAL THAT EXISTS
Three years ago, my dad said that all fish are the same shape. Out of spite, I decided to draw all 478 families of bony fish listed in Nelson 2016. There's still some stuff I need to edit and some fish I want to redraw but, after 985 days, I finished my big dumb fish project last night.

One woman scientist named in UK’s GCSE science syllabus. Three named in A level science. How many men? 85 and 178. Funny that. Half of my 50 PhD students have been women; four of them (and one man) are now professors. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Shoutout to the Digital Education is Pointless session at #ALTc26 - the best conference format for presenting sector data I've seen in a very long while! (@julievoce.bsky.social and colleagues)
"UK digital education has more pilots than British Airways" gets a good laugh from the crowd, who, I suspect, recognise the exhaustion of continual evaluation of EdTech that often doesn't quite meet the mark, whether in terms of accessibility, usefulness, ethics, functionality, or workload...
We're delighted to begin Day Two with our opening keynote, exploring ‘Digitally-Enabled Learning Across Educational and Professional Contexts’ with Henrietta Mbeah-Bankas. An inspiring start to the final day of ALTC26. #ALTC26 #altc

Queen YouTube now has a TV stream and it's playing our favourite, which we had on a big TV at our wedding. The best bit is every moment John Deacon is just trying to get through it in this outfit: youtu.be/uHP-qgzUVLM?...

I’ve tried multiple times to ditch FB/Insta and the result is not making rent. As a self employed artist I have to have my work visible where ppl are or I don’t eat. The tattoo industry has consolidated itself around Instagram & if you’re not there you’re invisible. I hate it.
you can't be serious. This reads Meta/Facebook/Insta is looking to grant itself the rights to scrape websites across the open web - and train Meta's AI - if a company after Oct 30, 2026 uses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or other Meta services. So every biz. Read that again. Outrageous. 1/5
