This video may be one of those bits that future history uses so say a lot with a little. Like it's so... "perfect" isn't the right word but you know. So perfect that if it was a written account of a past event, a current historian would preface it with, "In a scene that was probably apocryphal..."

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Protester in Minneapolis just before disappearing in gas: "Fuck you! Stop. Damn! I'm 70 years old and I'm fuckin' angry!"

How embarrassing. This is like peak The Office where Michael Scott actually becomes painful to watch.

I live in a rural Trump+70 area. Literally +70. One "made for a classic NYT story about Real Americans" family just got a kitten from us specifically because a good Barn Cat is hard to find. Anyway they have a Mach E. It drives me effing insane how destructively out of touch "party insiders" are.

Imagine just announcing to the world you are a fool, willfully ungrounded in facts, AND an amoral weakling whose default response is to roll over to fascists. Fighting back MADE this happen. When people are choosing who to elect as their leaders, they looking for people who demonstrate LEADERSHIP.

Jake Grumbach@jakemgrumbach.bsky.social

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

The corrupt Kushner/Trump theft of an Albanian nature reserve island was an early catalyzing event in this anti-government movement.

Mark Chadbourn@chadbourn.bsky.social

Anti-government protests are continuing in Tirana. Albanian protesters have been throwing Molotov cocktails at police officers.

I've been going out of my way to teach my kids that any time someone tells you there's an easy/simple solution to something, they're either dumb or lying.

Craziest thing about the R Rape Problem is that it's two different problems, depending on whether you're a R on the inside looking out, or you're a normie looking in. For insiders the problem is good ol boys can't do some light rape anymore. Normies see the problem is all the rape still happening.

Marisa Kabas@marisakabas.bsky.social

It’s a subject that makes a lot of people uncomfortable and calling them corrupt and evil is easier. But the truth is that Republicans have a rape problem—one that they celebrate.

And that unraveling atmosphere was dropping increasingly acidic rain.

Chris Kluwe, adjudicated poaster@chriswarcraft.bsky.social

There was a fucking hole in our planet’s *atmosphere* Like a legit, no joke, “this will unravel our entire ecosystem” hole in the world, and then we fixed it by working together across national and political lines As a species we decided, “we will survive” Let’s do that some more

The Marine Corps really is a weird, special organization. There's a real Fuck You thing in the culture in strange positive way. We're going to be the best because Fuck You. We're going to pass this financial audit because Fuck You. We're not going to feed our people to the wolves because Fuck You.

MWhite@pjmatt.bsky.social

This is an amazing, stunning story. you have to really sit with it, and I think the lesson is you really REALLY need to absorb the lessons here of culture between the Navy/Marines and the Army/Air Force. there's a LOT to think about it. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/23/u...

What's been historically unique about Ukraine in this war is the extent to which they have tried to *minimize* the share of the fighting burden born by the younger generation because they're doing this *for* that generation. Like exempting 18-25s from the draft! The Ukrainian army is kinda old!

Dmitry Grozoubinski@explaintrade.com

Hey everyone, gather around! Elon Musk, the trillionaire defense contractor currently spending >$400m on political campaigns to prop up the party of a deeply unpopular president who launched the Iran War has some thoughts about Ukraine, elites, and money in politics.

Lol I didn't even know the Republicans themselves were disunited and competing on this ballot.

Adam Bonin@adambonin.bsky.social

The time to determine whether Dan J. Sullivan Jr. could appear on the Alaska ballot for U.S. Senate was months ago, and Alaska courts did so. What's additionally batshit about this is that the candidates' names are printed on the ballot in a way which makes abundantly clear who's who.

Aaron Grote reposted

🤔Could you afford to spend $80 on an election? Because $80 is 0.04% of the median net worth of a US citizen.🤷🏿‍♂️ $445 million for him, is like $80 for you. Because he doesn't only have $1 billion, or $10 billion, or even $100 billion. He has $1,000 billion. Your silly rules let him get that rich.

The wildest thing about this is that, for Elon, this is equivalent to someone who makes $100k spending $44. He's dropped almost half a billion dollars on an election, and it's like a normal couple grabbing dinner.

This is interesting in two ways. 1) Musk refused to launch satellites that would provide services competitive with Starshield. 2) Space Force isn't even pretending SpaceX will be an option in the foreseeable future. Is SpaceXAI even a space company without Falcon?

Paul Guinnessy@paulguinnessy.bsky.social

Space Force recently tried to book rides for three future satellite missions, but #SpaceX declined to offer its services, as it doesn't want to sell the Falcon rockets anymore. No other rocket companies offered to take them either. #EverythingIsFine

What are the odds the letter was from one of the story's sources?

But also this is what Musk believes happened *to him* because he doesn't see his own daughter as someone having her own a inherent agency, value, and rights separate from Musk as the Progenitor with implied possessive rights.

lastpositivist.bsky.social@lastpositivist.bsky.social

Just been such a revolution in my worldview to realise that people like Musk actually believe this, this isn't just the nonsense they feed the rubes so they can do coldly rational mercantile calculations in smokey rooms among themselves. No. It's rubes all the way down, they're that stupid.

Hi Elon. It's me. My elected representative work for me. I'm demanding they hold you accountable to the maximum extent allowable by law. It's me you want.

Democrats should do the *bipartisan* thing and make extra sure they give lots of free PR and tons of name recognition to the law firms representing administration crooks. Just endlessly saying what law firms are representing the Trump circle. Y'know, to be nice.

There's so much to say here. 1) Trump is openly saying that Putin has helped kill Americans, that Putin is threatening to kill MORE Americans, and that Trump is caving to Putin's threats because his war of choice has put him in an impossible position. That's an incredible public submission.

2) That dementia typo at the end would have been two weeks of Biden coverage. But we just accept that Trump is mentally gone and that for some reason that's ok, even though (see 1) he's getting publicly owned by multiple opponents simultaneously.

Plus Murdoch stuff. Fox News, WSJ, New York Post, and the book publisher HarperCollins.
