If you like The October Music daily stories, why not pick up the collection from the first three years available on Amazon (I know, I know)? www.amazon.com/October-Musi... If that doesn't work for you, how about a Lovecraftian book written all in letter form? www.amazon.com/Boddicker-Le...

Braincracking on Thursday can't come soon enough.

Open request here. Two possible ways to help me! 1. If you've read any of the short stories on my Patreon or website (non-music related), would you give me a quote for back cover copy? 2. If you haven't, would you like to do that? I'd really appreciate it!

Arthur's ride. Red Dead Redemption 2. Mordin's 'Amazing Grace' tape in Mass Effect 3 Those two ruined me for a few minutes.

Can confirm. New story being written. Everything I write is getting worse and worse - not quality-wise, but content-wise. Something is wrong with me, I think. I mean, beyond what I already know.

Day 26 of this year's October Music just reinstates the fact that paranoid doesn't always mean wrong but can mean bad things regardless. Please enjoy...Crazy Train. www.aaronccross.com/stories-your...

You know the whole 'every person swallows eight spiders in their sleep every year' little factoid? Well, I'VE got a CPAP mask so I beat the system. Take that, suicidal spiders! I mean...unless they're going up my nose into my sinus cavity. That is the new worst thing I could possibly imagine. Yay.

Day 25 of this year's October Music is a caution for us all to not taunt people. Please enjoy...Burning Down the House. www.aaronccross.com/stories-your...

I'll never use AI to 'improve' my writing because I'm better than a sodomized blender being jerry-rigged with asshole vibe coding to try to replicate dogshit. AI can't 'refine' my writing because it's already better than anything it can produce. I HATE myself and my writing and I still know that.

Day 24 of this year's October Music (a bit earlier than usual) is a reminder to plan for the unexpected if you turn on someone. Please enjoy...Aqualung. www.aaronccross.com/stories-your...

CONTROL Resonant: Ability to change gravity: super fun Hiss Ruiner and Apex Ruiner: the opposite of fun

Okay, instead of spamming you all with free stories that you can read for free on my website - free, I should try to actually engage on a personal level. So. What's one thing in your life that isn't actively sucking on rehydrated pig buttholes? Give me ONE thing that is going well for you. Do it.

Not that it needs clarification but I may as well jump into The Discourse because I'm bored and avoiding being sad about my friend: I don't write 'cozy' horror. I write horror that is squishy and sticky and wet and cold and cosmic. I write horror that does NOT make you feel 'good'. And I like it.

RIght! Meme Friday. Jeez, I hope next week is less...this week. Be kind to yourself this weekend. Sleep in. Get something unhealthy to eat. Drink tasty poison. Call a friend to check in. Call an ex. Keep calling the ex. Call late at night so they know you're thinking about them. Get blocked. Cry.

Day 23 of this year's October Music is a...weird story. It's slightly funny and slightly scary and I don't know why I chose Boston but that's that. Please enjoy...Burn the Witch. www.aaronccross.com/stories-your...

One of the nice things about refusing to allow yourself emotions is you can absorb an unexpected grief (death of a friend) into the whole internal ecosystem of unaddressed junk and just let it ride. No fuss, no contemplation - just suppression and continuing on with life. It's handy!

2700 words later, the singular most fucked-up story I have EVER written is done. Should I go on Patreon? Should I put it exclusively in a book? Suggestions?

Q4: #HorrorWritersChat When I was an odd little boy, I would pick the wings off flies and legs off grasshoppers. It wasn't malicious. Simply curiosity and the unfettered cruelty that exists in childhood before a conscience emerges. So, I can't be mad that this thing is doing the same to me, can I?

Q3: #HorrorWritersChat It wouldn't be a stretch to say my monsters are cosmic in nature. Even the more mundane killers and the like are influenced by Something Beyond. There is something dark that lurks and makes the universe itself monstrous. Reality itself, even. It's impossible to avoid that.

Q2: #HorrorWritersChat I try to nail three different areas in making horrible happen. 1. I try to be visceral and intense with gore. A bleeding wound is one thing. A leaking cavity is another. 2. Randomness. Generally, the victims don't 'deserve' what hits them. 3. Bleakness. No happy endings.

Q1: #HorrorWritersChat I am still inexplicably here and also AC Cross. I write cosmic and body and gross and bleak and non-horror horror sometimes. My current short story is about gooning gone wrong. It's gonna get weird.

Writing another horror story now. It's going to be filthy. I'm okay with that.

Day 21 of this year's October Music is a reminder to be careful - all actions have consequences, after all. Please enjoy...96 Quite Bitter Beings. www.aaronccross.com/stories-your...

I'm trying to delay using the happy lamp in the mornings for as long as possible because it's annoying but, whoo doggy, the brain raccoons are feasting right now and not being shy about it.

FINE. I wrote it. Here it is. MAJOR CONTENT WARNING FOR DISTRESSING CONTENT. You have been warned and can't get mad at me now. www.patreon.com/aaronccross/...

The true theme song of any writer worth their salt.

Some people argue that AI can't replicate human emotion or feeling. They call it sterile and algorithmic and born of the unholy merging of blenders and micro-genitalia. All of those are true. But you can trust I don't ever use AI because it cannot feasibly replicate the sheer stupid I can create.

I have such a thing for the lady at the butcher shop. It’s terrible. She’s pretty and cheerful and doesn’t have a ring and I will do NOTHING because I’m a coward.
