🛻🛻 Is this one of the best "top-down" racers on the #commodore64?? Does Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road still hold up today? 🛻🛻 Check out our latest video & judge for yourself: ▶️ youtu.be/EW14U8R2mdE?... #retrogaming #c64games #offroad

When did old toys become so cheap?!? I’ve been holding onto my Speak & Maths for decades, hoping to retire from selling it, but a working Speak & Spell for under £25?!? Is this a remake or something? ebay.io/m/3yPlm5

Incredible find in the charity shop today. An album from 1968 (reprinted in 1970) of Garrison’s Gorillas, a tv show from the late 60s. Check out the almost 60 year old artwork!

Remember the board game I Vant To Bite Your Finger? Just looking through the photos a the vampire and the board on this eBay listing, and it’s bringing back nostalgia in huge waves. Did you play it? ebay.io/m/Dzk89S

Tonight’s light hearted entertainment is something about lambs at The Lowry. Sounds quite relaxing, tbh. Can’t imagine why they’ve just announced over the tannoy that it features scenes of an adult nature?

Stay away from that Trap Door, ‘Cos there’s something down there… Happy Birthday to The Trap Door tv series. 40 years old today! Did you play Don Priestley’s classic game?

Remember The Trap Door? 6th Oct 1986 was the first time it aired on TV, with the episode ‘Breakfast Time’. Here are my tiny friends Berk, Boni and Drutt. Not sure who that little bear is peeping through in the background, though…

I met up with some twins again yesterday. They were Egg-stremely good at writing games in the 80s. The photographer was lovely too.

PLAYExpo Blackpool is this coming weekend! Meet legendary programmers The Oliver Twins, chat to Games Master presenter Dominik Diamond, along with Eugene Jarvis, Tony Warriner, Stoo Cambridge, Jason Bradbury and play Slopes Games Room’s quiz. Tix : www.playexpoblackpool.com

Watching the 40th Anniversary of Transformers the Movie shortly! Never seen it at the cinema. The first time I saw it was on VHS in 1987, and I’ve owned the DVD and Blu-ray for years. It’s a big moment for me!

Does anyone use the DJ feature in Spotify? It says some weird things. It’s just said, “Some of your 2024 favourites coming up next. Here’s a song you listened to 4 times last month.” Eh?

The Spotify DJ also chooses such bizarre songs to play. “Up next, some tunes I know you gonna like, all with the same vibe.” Then it played Scenes from an Italian Restaurant by Billy Joel, followed by Boom Shake The Room by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

We don’t do much between Jan and Aug, but as soon as September hits the fun things always kick in. This week: Yesterday: Vegan Festival in Wigan Wed: Caitlin Moran (Lowry) Thur: Transformers 40th Anniversary screening Sat; Wigan Comiccon Sun: Kubo and the Two Strings screening

Picked up this beauty of a record earlier today from a charity shop in Wigan. I’ve always wanted an album of ice cream van music, but they don’t seem to have made any. This is the closest I think I’ll ever come.

Watching an old Ken Dodd routine on YouTube. Man, he was good! “My granddad, people say he worked like a horse. They used to follow him with a shovel.”

Saw Coyote vs Acme today. What a film! Wile E Coyote has been my favourite Looney Tune for decades. I’m pretty much a lifelong fan. It’s a very touching film (I did tear up a couple of times), and I’ll defo be getting on Blu-ray when it comes out. Go and see it while you can.

Today I’m off to watch Coyote vs Acme. Wile E Coyote has been my favourite cartoon character for decades. I was gutted a couple of years ago when I found out they had made a movie with him as the star, but had binned it. Cannot wait to finally see it on the big screen!

Cannot believe Peter Cullen has passed away. I got to watch him and Frank Welker do a read through at a convention a few years ago, and it genuinely was one of the best things I’ve ever seen and heard. Optimus Prime and Megatron were in that room with me.

What’s the best thing you can buy with adult money? I’m going to suggest you need the Magnum PI Playmobil set. It comes with Magnum, TC, Rick and Higgins. It’s at Costco, by the way.

When I was at school in the 80s, me and my mate Andrew did a sponsored cycle to Blackpool and back for Bolton Hospital. Check out my 80s hair.

Happy 44th Birthday to the Compact Disc. Do you remember the first CD you bought? I think mine was Sting with Englishman in New York, and it sounded so good! (But for me, cassettes will always win!)

I’ve seen so little online about this Geek Weekend in Bolton town centre. It’s like a Comiccon, with artists, stalls, trading cards, retro gaming and stuff, but free to enter. Dates: Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August 2026 Location: Market Place Bolton

Just planning our tea with nothing but circular food, so we can recreate what the sun does this evening. Also, just realised the last eclipse was in the same year that my website launched. Anyway… Jaffa Cakes ✔️ Crispbakes ✔️ Crumpets ✔️ What circular food are we missing?

When does the Wile E Coyote movie come out? I want to see that, and I want to watch the 40th Anniversary screening of the Transformers Movie too. Cartoons are where it’s at.

I think someone should make an app where you can sell items by making 6 second videos of what you’re selling. It should be called Vineted.

Trying to collect a complete set of Lego Dimensions Minifigures. Eris from Chima arrived today. Just need the Ninjagos, Teen Titans, Jake from Adventure Time, Doctor Who, and Sonic. Oh, and the PS4 exclusive Supergirl one, but at £80 that isn’t happening any time soon.

Aw man, Rest In Peace Jimmy Cricket. He was such a lovely guy. He sent me a letter in the post about 5 years ago, years after everyone switched to email, and he would wish me happy birthday on Facebook every year. Another true 80s legend gone. Going to watch this tonight. :(

You know the “Fi Fie Fo Fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman” thing from Jack and the Beanstalk? Fum doesn’t really rhyme with Man. Surely the Giant should be better off smelling the blood of an English Mum instead?
