My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

This is Gracie. She's a stray that lives under our house, and keeps us rodent-free. She's a sweet girl, and we're glad to have her. Between us and a couple of neighbors, we feed about 30 stray cats. The cats have learned to trust us, and many of them are very loving. It's all quite rewarding. ❤️
