I kinda like this just because I want the Democrat who wins in 2028 to make a spectacle of deporting him to Eritrea or wherever

Phil Lewis@phillewis.bsky.social

WASHINGTON (AP) — State Department says it will give US visas to defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro and his family.

We don’t have the votes to impeach so we should focus instead on “getting stuff done” with votes that we also don’t have. Why do so many democrats not understand the concept of being in the *opposition*

Acyn@acyn.bsky.social

Kamala Harris: I think that going in the direction of impeachment is not a good idea. I was in the Senate for the last go-round, and the votes aren’t there. I think after the election, we all have to just also agree that our attitude has to be to get stuff done…

You can actually just go ahead and remove all the words between “Men” and “have no business”

The Downballot@the-downballot.com

Justin Pearson's response: "Men of faith––let alone men who are married, in their fifties, and in public office––have no business sending unsolicited nude photos to women."

at least when Herman Cain did this he picked a region where all of the country names are kinda long, as opposed to, you know, "Iran"

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

JD Vance says of the Middle East that it's "a region of the world made up of countries whose name I couldn't even pronounce"

apologies to District Camera, but I've decided to start developing my color film at home. Film developing is one of those things that seems super specialized and difficult but even at hobbyist-scale it requires very little equipment, time, or expertise

the more I learn about Haley Stevens and her campaign the more obvious it is that she and everyone involved are total pieces of shit

First time I’ve been able to watch the Wilson Bridge open. Stayed open just long enough to get a 20 second exposure with my medium format camera but who knows if that will turn out because I forgot my cable release and had to hold the shutter with my finger in bulb mode

Born in 1980 and never had any special feelings for this movie. Like it’s fine but I don’t think it’s (highly questionable) status now is reflective of how meaningful it was at the time it came out

Foliage map says high-to-peak color around the New River Gorge but still pretty green. But it also seems like some places the leaves are dropping off without much color change (drought?)

Also my dog is a little too old for a 3.1 mile hike with some pretty steep sections, so he had to ride in his backpack for a while. He weighs 50+ pounds so carrying for any length requires some specialized equipment

Verizon offered me FIOS for like $20 less than Xfinity so I figured why not try it. But not only did they not tell me they need to dig up my patio (TBF they pay for it) but the installer just straight up no-showed today without a message or call. So we’ll be sticking with Xfinity I think

guy in front of me walking into the bathroom went straight to the middle of three empty urinals and I think this warrants an HR complaint

Trying to get film stills while also shooting video yields uh…mixed results. The fully manual camera does not help! Canon AE-1 with 50mm f/1.8 on Ilford Delta 3200. I developed these at 3200 but may have had better results pushing to 6400 but that upped the developing time to like 30 minutes

Traded in my Sony A7IV for an A7RV and hooo boy this thing is a beast. These are at ISO 8000 with no post noise reduction, lens is my pretty cheap Samyang 100mm macro shooting wide open at f/2.8. These are pretty significantly cropped and still higher res than the A7IV uncropped 😳

It’s a good bit to insult the looks of a guy who is probably in the Top 10 of hottest people ever elected to national office in the US

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump claims that Ossoff "looks like Pee Wee" 🤔

lost track of ol' Audrey once I moved out of Arlington, but it doesn't feel like she always this much of a white hood wearing piece of shit, at least openly?

guy whose entire career has been built on cultural carpetbagging has thoughts on assimilation

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Kid Rock on Fox & Friends: "It appears that El-Sayed is assimilated ... and I would like to make the point that there have been other people who have assimilated to this country. The Fort Hood shooter. Those extremists that became pilots and crashed into our World Trade Center."

e.w. niedermeyer@niedermeyer.online

credit where due: instead of heavy-handed 80s design clichés, Tesla is now ripping of turn-of-the-millennium Lamborghini design... which is technically progress, of a sort

I will just “yes, and” this to say that immigrants can talk as much shit about this country as they want IDGAF

Justin Baragona@justinbaragona.bsky.social

The way JD Vance says this, he is acting as if Abdul El-Sayed is an immigrant who should "show a little gratitude to the country that gave him everything." Once again, it should be pointed out that El-Sayed was born and raised in Michigan.

If the pope killer is the nominee in 28 his opponent’s slogan should just be “you seriously gonna vote for that asshole?”

Some black and whites from a Grateful Dead cover show I did video for a couple weeks ago in WV. Developed these in my darkroom class then scanned them

this is with a $130 Canon AE-1 from the late 1970s on Ilford HP5+. I just shot a roll of Ilford 3200 at a different show and am very curious how that came out. Going to develop that on Sunday

this is like the Ark of the Covenant angels looking all happy and welcoming right before they turn the Nazi's flesh into melted goo

I'm still unclear on what "curb your dog" means. Like uh, you want my dog to pee on the curb? I can't just make him do that and he seems to prefer peeing on the sign instead 🤷‍♂️

Patrick Cosmos@veryimportant.lawyer

I just saw a bunch of my music buddies that I don't get to see super often, who are all tatted up hardcore punk guys including former addicts and felons, and many many hugs and "I love yous" were exchanged and not a single one needed to be qualified with a "no homo" or whatever

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

JD Vance: "I love you too sir. In a totally platonic way, to be clear. I'm the vice president, not James Talarico."

So I basically produced(?) an Agnostic Front show out of my Hyundai Ioniq tonight. Set up the lights and rigged the stage by myself (except the PA speakers) with all my own gear. Also did video!

First time I’ve been able to watch the Wilson Bridge open. Stayed open just long enough to get a 20 second exposure with my medium format camera but who knows if that will turn out because I forgot my cable release and had to hold the shutter with my finger in bulb mode

Shots from the first roll of film I developed myself at my darkroom class. Shot with Canon AE-1 on Ilford HP5+

every time I see "seed oils" my brain reads it in the voice of Gen. Jack D. Ripper from Dr. Strangelove

Capitalism is all about supply and demand. Car companies supply inefficient vehicles that are more profitable to them and the government demands that you buy them regardless of what your preferences actually are

The Trump admin finalized a significant weakening of federal fuel economy standards for automobiles, rolling back a key policy that had pushed the industry to improve the efficiency of cars & trucks & sell more battery-electric vehicles. Gift link @bloomberg.com: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

As a not particularly critical viewer of TV this just seems like a list of every show that has come out while I’ve been an adult in mostly random order

Tired of Sex, mostly just because that drum intro is so fuckin good. Getchoo has also moved up my list the last few times I’ve put this on

‘Pinkerton’ came out 30 years ago today. 💿 What’s your favorite track?

Okay the fraud part is bad but the stupidest part of this has to be the idea that you can call the manufacturer of anything. You can’t fuckin call anyone anymore because they only want you to talk to their chat bots that are designed to make you give up

Matt Novak@paleofuture.bsky.social

That's just fraud, my dude. Even if you use an AI agent. It's just fucking fraud.
