This is just another example of how unreliable and unstable Trump and America are. Republicans won't do anything to deal with this issue despite the damage it is doing. It is troubling how Americans cannot see what trump etc are doing

🚨🚨 #Trump's message to #Ukraine is now clear. The president's action over the last 72 hours look like an effort to force Kyiv to surrender. Clear-sighted take by @anneapplebaum.wsocial.eu on #trump's betrayal of #ukraine's fight to protect their independence. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1...

Zelenskyy: "Prices are rising because of the war in the Middle East, the blocking of Hormuz. Everyone understands it. If we want to speak with people fairly, if we want to be clear, if we want to speak with our nations openly, people have to hear reality. Don't play games with people."

Can someone tell me why so many so called veterans are behaving more like the SS or SA. Calling for people crossing the channel to be killed and yet we're told we must unconditionally respect veterans no matter what

It is painful to see how far the UK has fallen when almost on a daily basis now people are actively calling for the killing of people they don't know just because of the colour of their skin or where they've come from. It's really disturbing

Can anyone answer me why some people think we can push dinghies trying to cross the channel back into french waters? Or why they think we can pick asylum seekers up and drop them off in France? It's not hard to understand why it's not possible but they think it is

I am so sick of reform politicians saying that Brexit wasn't done right or hasn't happened. How stupid are they? Do they actually believe this nonsense? After all this time do they still not understand simple things

I do seriously wonder how people can be so blind about Reform. They've stated so many times that they are racist, corrupt and want to hurt people. But people still want to vote for them. I mean why? Are people really this blind and ignorant?

This shows that again too many on the left have no understanding of the real world. In the UK we have the Greens and people like Corbyn who are very similar. People who fail to understand the world as it is not how they want it to be. There will be no real negotiations till Russia has had enough

I have always, and will continue, to stand with the Ukrainian people and unequivocally condemn Putin’s illegal and brutal invasion. I voted against the Ukraine Support Act because of its inclusion of broad economic sanctions.

This isn't exactly a surprise and I've seen many farming groups moan about such a ban. And frankly I am tired of some of these groups. They are extremely insular and moan at everything that they see as negative. I really really don't see what their problem really is

🚨🚨Bad, bad, VERY EVIL #EU is demanding UK to restrict the use of a controversial weedkiller glyphosate linked to CANCER. 🧵 www.theguardian.com/environment/...

The war is at a major impasse. The Russians aren't able to breakthrough, yet, and Ukraine is battering them at the front and behind so they are losing. The question will remain is how long both can keep this up

🚨🚨 New: #Ukraine reportedly strikes #Russian #Shahed, Iskander component facility, major oil refinery amid large-scale attack. After more than four years, it seems #Russia is very far away from winning the war: kyivindependent.com/flamingo-mis...

What's probably caught them off guard is the timing. To all intents it's been obvious that Trump was looking to do this at some point despite it actually weakening America strategically. I doubt the alliance will easily survive Trump's presidency and it's an open question if it's a bad thing or not

🚨🚨Unsurprising #trump betrayal and downward spiral in EU-transatlantic relationship. The striking point is not really the announcment but that European leaders were caught off guard with this announcement. 🧵 www.politico.eu/article/us-t...

I really do hope that he loses and does so badly. The fact that Europe has had him acting as a Russian agent for so long has been tiresome. Anyone especially now who says that they are pro Russia, America and Israel really need to look at themselves

Jacob Öberg@profjacob.bsky.social

🚨🚨"Surprise, surprise": Serbia’s top military brass said Ukraine was not behind an incident involving explosives near a gas pipeline with Hungary, in a rebuke to Hungarian PM Viktor #Orbán, who heavily implied Kyiv was involved. 🧵 www.politico.eu/article/serb...

I find it incredibly shameful that I have to stop supporting my local club Ipswich town FC. They lied to fans, they invited Farage for a political party stunt. Those in charge have all but admitted that they support reform a far right extremist group. It is not something a community club should do.

The entire issue here is that if Trump and the GOP had gotten behind Ukraine earlier instead of sabotaging them Russia would be struggling more now. Imagine tomahawks, an almost unlimited supply of drones and better air defences. But instead Trump and the GOP did the opposite

Jacob Öberg@profjacob.bsky.social

🚨🚨I tried to avoid swearing here but the only that comes to mind here is what a fucking #traitor and coward #Trump is again and again. 🧵 www.politico.eu/article/us-d...

I am totally ashamed to say that I was an Ipswich Town fan. After the club's deliberate endorsement of Farage and the Reform party that is no longer the case. I am sickened that the club I used to support has sunk this low as to support a fascist

This is perhaps the most ridiculous thing about this situation. Brexiteers were specifically warned about this situation so it's not a surprise. It's also why Brexit isn't sustainable. It's also why the next GE will be about our relationship with the EU

Jacob Öberg@profjacob.bsky.social

🚨🚨 Major irony warning: The UK decision to depart from the EU in the "hard" way opting for the TCA was the most severe barrier to EU trade that could be imposed. Now live with it or renegotiate the basic terms of this framework. #brexit www.ft.com/content/05e0...

It's really irritating seeing people who ask, what do we get out of helping Ukraine or why should we help. The simple answer is helping people who did nothing wrong, why can't people learn this? Too many times countries have refused to help people and the consequences have been tragic

Why is it so absolutely embarrassing at the moment to be British at the moment. There has been a sexual assault in Ipswich where I live and so many morons are saying it's an immigrant etc... what the hell is wrong with people it doesn't matter I'm so sick of this shit

It is so painful seeing some people's response to what Starmer has said in response to Trump's actions. It's not a good situation but what the hell do people expect? It's a painfully hard situation. I'm no labour voter.but now I can't vote for anyone as they are ridiculous idiotic

The number of pro EU accounts I'm having to block is getting seriously ridiculous now. So many are getting painfully impatient saying we should be applying to rejoin the EU today not understanding that of course we can't and simply trying could derail the effort entirely if we try and fail

I find it rather troubling but also amusing that I see so many leave and reform voters saying that Ukraine should essentially surrender to Russia. Undermine its own sovereignty and live under russian dominance just so they can have things easy. Can they see how bad they look

There is a seriously ridiculous debate going on where I live. Several schools put off the 2 minutes silence for mock exams for the year 11's for 45 minutes. The response is seriously ridiculous and stupid. What the hell is wrong with people. There is nothing to complain about

Far too many people are being extremely dishonest about the debate surrounding nationalisation of the water companies. It needs to happen but we really need to be honest about the costs. There will be costs involved it won't be free or cheap or as expensive as others suggest

Transparency from MPs is extremely important especially from the better ones. Too often policies or ideas are not explained properly or have serious holes. An example is the nationalisation of water companies. Too many times MPs etc.. ignore serious issues deliberately and don't answer questions

Appalled to see this image of Donald Trump and the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein projected onto Windsor Castle. Please... for the love of all that is good, do not share it on all your social media channels... because it simply wouldn't be done to remind the world of the association

What is quite painful hearing at the moment is all the people saying we must stop the boats etc but naturally they don't actually know how. When they suggest leaving the ECHR and such that won't work. They're ignoring the problem and making really poor excuses and claim that they are not racist

How are we going to deal with the issues surrounding asylum seekers when the debate is so poor? They're blamed for so much, told that it's not our problem or that they are from an inferior society etc..it's seriously ridiculous

One of the things that I find so ridiculous at the moment in the UK is that no one seems to be able to learn from our recent history. The idea that we can leave the ECHR Scotland can get its independence and join the EU almost immediately it's all so easy apparently or the UK can join the EU

I really do wish people would stop pushing for a wealth tax. It sounds like an easy idea but it doesn't make it so. There are so many issues and likely contradictions and unintended consequences. Once exceptions are made for obvious things it won't be effective

Left wing people as well as activists really need to get a hold on themselves. Comparing Starmer to Hitler, suggesting we should ignore the US (which would be great) when we can't. We can't fight the extreme right by going even further left

It really is time that the UK gets its arse in gear. If there are things we want to have, decent pension, clean water, jobs, health, education etc... all of this requires money. We really need to start realising that we need to see scaled tax increases while other costs are forced down

I am getting really tired with how so many MPs and other activists behave at the moment. They do not say how they are going to do things just what they want to do. The how is as important as the what. Plus activists seem to be so seriously impatient it's unreal, so many need to get real

If there is one thing that this country needs to get better at it's the ridiculous level of self indulgence and impatience. From Doctors who want a ridiculous pay rise to people who expect over a decade of decline to be reversed immediately. There are so many people that I just can't take seriously

There are so many problems in this country and one of the biggest ones is the people themselves. If it's impatient rejoiners, like Femi, or doctors who want a huge pay increase, Reform supporters who fail to understand basics and so many other issues. We cause so many problems ourselves

The number of people who are falling over themselves to forgive Jeremy Corbyn is truly disturbing and I cannot engage with them further. He is, like so many others, a truly awful politician. The country desperately needs better people in charge and Corbyn most certainly is not one of them.

With so much wrong with the country and many of the solutions being extremely evident what is the problem? Is it politicians? No not really. Media? Yes, but still not really. Is it the people? Yes in many respects. We could fix many of the problems but it's the people who won't allow it

It is really frustrating seeing so many people not understanding just how badly they've been played. Be it for domestic or foreign agendas Israel, Trump and Iran have played everyone for their own advantage in one way or another. And now we're stuck with an escalating conflict

So many people are dealing with absolutes over what Starmer should or shouldn't do. But considering British forces appear not to have been involved that's good. Those wanting a public condemnation of American strikes seriously need to think about what could follow as it's Trump we're dealing with
