Yes, I treated myself to a cup of my Esprit de Noẽl tea when it’s still October. We live in a time of rising fascism and slop-powered enstupidification. I take comfort how I can.

I gave a couple of listens to Tailgunner this weekend. They’re good, if a bit too power-metal-y for me. This morning, I was about to do it again, and then realized that I could as well listen to the original, and played Peace Of Mind. And I like it better.

I love Villeneuve’s works. And I liked Dune parts 1 & 2. I could not care less about part 3. I don’t even understand why this movie was made.

I am late to the party, and that’s because I was expecting it be meh, but Holy Cow, ~Batman~ Daredevil, WandaVision is a really good show.

Nah, the fighter's are steel, the rogue's are brass, and the bard's are blue.

You ain't ready for the dungeon until you have either a Scrotomancer or Anomancer in your group. They really put the party in 'Adventuring Party.' We wanted to bring a Clitomancer, but the bard said he couldn't find one and assured us they were a myth.

Trying it again, thanks to fucking Siri (or is it Lexxy?) My #ttrpg friends and I are about to play our second session of The Borellus Connection, and I like this campaign so much, so far, that I've started blogging it: 2-45.pm/kicking-off-.... (And the first version of this post was better.)

2-45.pmKicking off the Borellus Connection - 2-45.pmGUMSHOE is one of my favorite RPG systems. I like it best in my home port of Kult, and when it comes to Kult, I've long been wanting to run a campaign set on...

saw someone compare mamdani to goku and el-sayed to vegeta and that seems right to me

I’m listening to an actual play of the Borellus Connection, and it’s funny how every single group of TTRPG has one guy who doesn’t play the scenario, but plays at trying to outsmart the GM and turn the game into their own power fantasy.

I share the feeling, plus maybe a bit more. Edgetinkering has never appealed to me, but with these new tools – ever-changing and non-deterministic – it looks even more like wanking into oneself a sense of relevance.

In the spirit of "writing more" but definitely also firmly in the "I don't know who this is aimed at other than myself." I found this useful, for me. schembri.me/writing/agen...

I hope that the US will come back from Orbánism, so that I can feel comfortable traveling there and go and see Taylor Tomlinson perform.

– So, as explained during session 0, your characters are all fields agents of a US gouvernement entity akin to the CIA. One day, you are being requested at Langley. – Oh, it’s going to take me some time to get there, I am a banker living in Switzerland. I swear. Some players.

I appreciate the boldness of 60’s cinema, but putting heavy eyeshadow and eyeliner on Michael Caine for close-ups of his eyes doesn’t do good to the spy vibe.

There are two new crisis in a software world. 1. We, software developers, are not capable enough for our jobs/tasks because we've avoided to face the true difficulties. 2. The moral/morale of software developers goes down because we are now treated as a replaceable resource.

Now is not a great time to be caught between the rock of a maddening job and the hard place that is software engineering in this Golden Age Of Robots.

Resident Evil: very good start, but the clever Easter eggs quickly become annoying self-awareness that eventually turns to plain laziness, and the movie doesn’t even bother coming up with a proper ending.

Fun fact: this morning, there were 2 flights leaving Helsinki for Stockholm at the same time, from opposite gates. Anyway, long story short, I now have 8 hours to kill at the airport.

For some years now, I've had occasional allergic reactions to something I could not pinpoint, but had to be food-related. I think that I now know what triggers them. It looks like one can be allergic to gin. My life has lost the little meaning it had left.

Cursives are difficult. It took me 2 minutes to realize that the pub on the other side of the street is not named “The Fart”.

I have no patience nor respect for the “if you don’t get good results from your AI tools that’s because you don’t know how to use them well” crowd, because I’ve tried to make Scrum work for 10 years.

An unexpected positive consequence of the Rise of the (Coding) Machines is that I should not be called crazy for rejecting the practice of Pull Requests anymore. (Maybe not for the right reasons, but hey, I don’t look a given agent in the harness.)
