people are always like “what link do i give to?!” one giant pile of money is actually not a great way to help people. people choosing a variety of places to give helps keep the money moving. no one org gets flooded to the point of breaking. a PTA, the mutual aid venmo, can move $ even faster.

not to mention—having people apply for funds through one centralized place would create a dream database of data for ICE to get their grubby fucking hands on. small is better! neighbor to neighbor. no lists. no unsecured pile of applications.

Yes! So many people are in need of rent assistance and are (understandably!) afraid to apply for city/county/other gov’t resources.

Connect with a local social advocacy organization. Use them as a network resource to funnel support to sister organizations they coordinate with. Do mutual aid federation.
